One of my favorite cover songs. And I’m not a covers guy. B/w the worst Joan Jett song IMO. Complete throwaway track. #NowPlaying #Vinyl #Soundtracks #.45s

#NowWatching #MovieSky I’m still legit pissed we never got a sequel to this. I used to watch Entertainment Tonight and read Premiere magazine hoping for that news. An all-timer for me.

RIP Cronos Everything a solo album should be. A pure reflection of Cronos. #NowPlaying #MetalSky #MusicSky

With apologies to Haunting the Chapel, Garage Days, Sign Of Evil, Nuns No Fun, and Mad Butcher…. this is my favorite E.P. #NowPlaying #MetalSky #Vinyl #MusicSky

Thinking of how great the Sam Goody #Vinyl closeout bin was at the Annapolis Mall circa the late 80s. 2-3 bucks. Loaded with tons of college rock. Perfect for me who was obsessed with discovering bands that were on the outer reaches of the college charts. That’s where the gems were #NowPlaying

Always an excellent one to pull out for the fall. Sounds like October Kadavar - Berlin #NowPlaying #MusicSky

Feels like there is a thing in the metal community to hate on the modern era of the “big” thrash acts. Not I. Of the legacy bands, Exodus is the one I’ve felt held up best. This one is frequent revisit. And well earns its long run time. #NowPlaying #MetalSky #MusicSky

Not my favorite Quicksand, but one that has become a grower. #NowPlaying #Vinyl #MusicSky

I’m an equal fan of both Ridgway and Prieboy eras of Wall of Voodoo. But for me Andy Prieboy’s solo album Upon My Wicked Son is as good as even the best WoV. The OG Tomorrow, Wendy will always get me….. “…..Faces she keeps in her heart and mind/They say goodbye” #NowPlaying #Cassettes #MusicSky

Listening to Motörhead and waiting for the monsoon coming down the mountain. Dark skies. Northern winds. Temp dropping ten degrees this hour. Bring on the flood. It’s fall in the desert! #NowPlaying #MetalSky #MusicSky

One of my best scores in a long time. Back in the day I ignored this record due to it appearing “too concept-y” looking. Which also meant “oh no, too progressive sounding”. I was young. I was stupid. An overlooked gem now in its rightful place. #MetalSky #NowPlaying #Vinyl #LPs

I used to really want a reunion. Now I’m okay with leaving the legacy alone. Props to hating each other so much you’d leave all that money on the table. Always remember this album was so strong it hung in with the “grunge”wave #NowSpinning #Vinyl #MusicSky #5StarAlbums #90sMusic

What kind of asshole(s) destroys such beautiful public art. Don't destroy art. Whenever I'm up the mountain the first thing I do is pay my visit to Chuck.

An amazing sculpture of a chuckwalla lies in ruin because some people just really really suck.

A big fan of chuckwallas and of sculptures gets a picture with both.

“Trouble in the world/And the world gone astray” Pillar album for me. 4MenwithBeards reissue. Which means good packaging and a color variant, and a complete inability to press a correct center hole. Noisy. Worth it for the brilliant album though. #NowSpinning #Vinyl #Reggae #DesertIslandDisc

Pretty certain I did my due diligence on this project not being sketchy. Strong black metal that has just the right amount of atmosphere while not forgoing the blasting. Nice long compositions that fly by. Happy to have picked this up. #NowPlaying #MetalSky #MusicSky

The first long-playing record, a 33 1/3 rpm recording, was demonstrated at the Savoy Plaza Hotel in New York by RCA-Victor.

The venture was doomed to fail however, due to the high price of the record players, which started around $95 (about $1140 in today's dollars), so 78s still remained the option for recorded music to the masses.
However, it was finally revived in 1948. The image is of a vintage 1948 Columbia Player Attachment Model 101 Record Player 33 1/3 RPM made with Bakelite. These types of units were usually plugged into a phono jack provided in the rear of many old radio sets, so this player is technically called a "record player attachment".

Happy 76th birthday to American singer, songwriter FEE WAYBILL (The Tubes)

John Waldo Waybill is a founding member, frontman and a contributing songwriter of mid '70s San Francisco glam/theater rock group THE TUBES. He sings most of the band's material including the classics "White Punks On Dope", "What Do You Want From Life", "Don't Touch Me There" (duet with Re Styles), "Slipped My Disco", "I'm Just A Mess", "Prime Time", "Talk To Ya Later", "Attack Of The Fifty Foot Woman", "She's A Beauty" and "The Monkey Time (duet with Martha Davis) among others. I can't even show the gatefold picture from the live album as most of it is too raunchy for FB standards. Suffice to say that they put on an interesting show. I believe that FEE is still performing in his seventies.

Rewatching the Melvins Doc “Colossus of Destiny” I still crack up at Donita Sparks casually explaining that touring can be boring so sometimes you do crazy things…..like dress like the Melvins for Halloween

I find my best practice with the Melvins is to pull an album and sit with it for multiple listens. This helps a lot with those longer passages that they go wandering off on. I’ve certainly become much more patient and appreciative of those the older I’ve gotten #NowPlaying #MusicSky #CDcollection

Things I was frightened of as a child: And I mean I was deathly afraid of these things 1. Killer Bees 2. Quicksand 3. The Bermuda Triangle and now I live within close proximity to two of these things. Overcome your fears. Now watch me die sinking in quicksand while attacked by killer bees
