It's inconceivable to me how someone who lost in a free & fair election can incite an angry mob to attack his own government, (the very definition of treason) & be allowed to run for any office ever again.

To the people complaining these sex abuse cases have created a world where men now have to think 10 times before they touch a woman. Yes, that's the point. It's called consent. Welcome to human decency.

It's already estimated that the richest 1% alone evade $163 billion in taxes every year. But Trump gutted the IRS — including the unit tasked with auditing billionaires. The agency's audit revenue fell 35%. Now, Trump's IRS is not publishing data on unpaid taxes. See the problem?

I’m reading a lot of history these days. America has spent so much of our time and money because of Russian aggression since WWII. I wonder if instead of dropping the bomb on Japan we shouldn’t have hit Moscow. If you side with Russia you’re a traitor to America. Period.

Wow!! Great response on the "Woodstein" coverage of Watergate. They did it all without Google or iPhones. Ford pardoned Nixon because he was worried about what it would do to this country. Now we know it didn't fall apart. der trumple's WH gang please note: Nixon's guys went to prison.

The current administration is not the first to try and frame Democrats as communists. Mccarthyism was a lie at the time and perhaps current Democrats could defend themselves by pointing at history.Should we investigate government employees again? No this is ridiculous. It’s a free country.

Kroger, which wants to buy yet ANOTHER grocery chain: -Ranks among the largest companies with employees dependent on Medicaid & SNAP -Paid its CEO $14M last year, 417x its median worker's pay of just $34,552 -Spent $12.3B on stock buybacks since 2019 This is what corporate greed looks like.

I would like some ideas as to what to rename Mar a Lago as it is not an English name.
000
jtsteine.bsky.social @jtsteine.bsky.social · 27/08/2026
According to my research 24 to 26 States are named after Native American words. also if Trump doesn’t like Denali or Ontario should we not rename Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, etc.. and should we not rename Mar a Lago a Spanish name as Fat American House?
000
jtsteine.bsky.social @jtsteine.bsky.social · 27/08/2026
Ontario is an indigenous word for big lake. Indigenous of North America not just Canada. Then again so was Denali. Should we also rename all Blackhawk counties? The state of Iowa named for a Native American tribe and everything else so named?

The word "socialism" is constantly thrown out at any attempt at social progress that challenges the rich and powerful. We hear it used today — but this fear-mongering tactic goes back much further than most of us realize. @hcrichardson.bsky.social shares an interesting history lesson.

Not many are talking about what’s going on in Japan. Japan wants to sell US debt, but that would raise our interest rates, so instead we are just going to print more money for them. Correct me if this is wrong. Watch out for inflation it’s not going anywhere.

A recent survey found that 92% of U.S. adults have delayed or avoided medical care due to high costs. Meanwhile, a new study from Yale estimates that Medicare for All would save over 114,000 lives and $1 trillion a year. If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have universal healthcare.

We need to protect Social Security for the next generation.
The Social Security payroll tax is capped at $184,500 in income. So if you're a nurse or construction worker, you pay Social Security on 100% of your income. But if you're a lawyer raking in millions, you only pay Social Security on a tiny fraction of your income. That is not right.

Look at this graph. The share of national income going to the richest 10 percent was lowest (and share to lower 90 percent highest) when union membership was at its highest. As unions have weakened, inequality has widened. This is why we must build back union power.

Dozens of gas-burning power plants are being built across the country, solely to power data centers. These plants could emit as much planet-warming pollution as half of all passenger vehicles in the entire country in a single YEAR. We need a data center moratorium — now.
