It's very hard to deal with the level of depravity today. It gives me hope that people do speak up and out about it. And that candidates are calling them out plainly, more than ever in my lifetime

This is what an American hero looks like. Her name is Katie Phang and she is suing the most corrupt attorney general in U.S. history, pedophile protector Todd Blanche, to force him to release the unredacted Epstein files.

Of course (and what institutional history isn't?) . I'd never defend the awful stuff but I've known many Catholics to live in actual service to others. The criticism is essential but it shouldn't be facile, which it often is (not saying you)

I'm not a fan of religion generally or a practicing Catholic, but a lot of Catholic groups actually help the poor and sick, more than the evangelicals (not talking about the European Lutherans, btw, who do a lot more).

The anniversary of terrorist attacks is actually EXACTLY when we should talk about the material conditions that turn people into terrorists. Terrorists aren't born. They are made by the conditions of the world they inhabit. Happy, free, well cared for people don't become terrorists.

McDonald's is now reportedly pressuring franchisees to use AI to price food. Its CEO raked in $20.6M last year, over 1,000x the median McDonald's worker pay of $19,020. And they remain one of the largest employers of Medicaid and SNAP recipients. I'm not lovin' it.
