Voted from abroad in the midterms. A nice feeling. Your registrar emails you your ballot and then (in my case) you vote and mail it in via snail mail. I think some districts have digital return, however. It is easy. Register by the 5th. Only 3.4% of Americans abroad vote. Only 2.9% in Canada vote.

a patronage system where work must glorify an institution’s imagined deity or assert the power of that religious institution/figures. Artists don’t want to return to that, or a secular version. Which is why billionaires are buying studios, platforms, newspapers. Our best won’t glorify them for $$$$

Nope. I‘m an artist who left my country in great part because of their long-term action in regard to removing my human rights / healthcare. No need to say that that is crucial to my ability to create. Left before the last prez election/US. The church has been PROFOUNDLY antagonistic to artists.

knew we were in danger when I saw a soccer mom type at a pizza joint drift toward a TV that was airing a Trump rally of lies on CNN during 2016 campaign: looked like she was coming down from the pews to the altar in deep reverence for her savior. Very disturbing. Great Falls, VA. Pizza was bland.

I fought hard incl. my work re claiming the board was nearly set media-wise & tech-wise for an authoritarian since the 2nd Bush admin but I don’t think I turned a corner on thinking fascism would become mainstream+Americans would bystand it until the end of the Obama admin/stolen SCOTUS seat.

I liked this movie. But I do like solid-premise single-location indie #scifi +weird films (The Man From Earth, Circle). It’s actually possible to shoot them($) & they are more like plays in terms of dialogue/character driving discovery/weirdness. Would be v fun on the acting side! Congrats to them
