I assume it’s just the shop owner saying “yeah we can’t do the sale we usually do there bc it’s currently closed to the public”? Like, this ad is from a 2024 email I guess I never deleted, they for sure did these sales regularly. (Which I am guessing you already knew?)

Better graphic imo - it amounts to "if you use it to avoid spending time learning, it goes badly, if you use it to learn and spend time doing so, its fine."
Figure A12. Median and interquartile range of exam scores by homework completion time.

[Graph showing Exam Score on the y-axis (ranging from 60 to 120) and Homework Completion Time (Minutes) on the x-axis (ranging from 20 to 80).]

Legend:
- Generative AI (dark red line with light red shaded area)
- No Generative AI (dark blue line with light blue shaded area)
- Pre-AI Mean Exam Score (thin light red line)

The graph shows the Generative AI group starting with lower exam scores (around 70) at 20-25 minutes, rising sharply to meet the No Generative AI group around 55 minutes, and then tracking closely together up to 80 minutes. The Pre-AI Mean Exam Score line starts high at 20 minutes and remains relatively flat around 100 throughout the duration.

Note: The figure plots the median and interquartile ranges of exam scores by homework completion time, separately for AI students and non-AI students. It also plots the mean exam score for the AI students before the month they start using generative AI. The data are at the student-month level and the sample is that shown in Panel A of Table 1 with non-missing observations for homework time. There is little evidence of selection, except at the very low and high end, where students are positively selected.

I really liked this bit of shade.
More importantly, the Defendants' arguments avoid discussion of the comprehensive and fully protective security plan for the President and the White House that necessarily would have been put in place before destroying the East Wing.
The presumption of regularity requires us to take as given that such plans were made, and it is not for this court to question the rigor and full sufficiency of those measures in ruling on a preliminary injunction record. The Defendants' arguments and

So, as an example: here's what I got for the prompt "Research who Lux Alptraum is and provide a brief summary, including any particularly prominent work." fed to GPT. (I used a CLI harness but this should basically work the same way in the web client.). Then I accidentally resent the prompt (pic 2)
Lux Alptraum is a writer, sex educator, media producer, and consultant whose work focuses on sexuality, gender, technology, misinformation, and cultural attitudes toward women and sex. Her writing has appeared in outlets including The New York Times, WIRED, The Guardian, New York Magazine, Cosmopolitan, and Hustler. She is also described by WIRED as a Peabody-nominated writer.

Her most prominent work is likely her 2018 book, Faking It: The Lies Women Tell About Sex—and the Truths They Reveal. The book examines cultural assumptions that women are dishonest about sex—such as supposedly faking orgasms, lying about sexual history, or making false accusations—and argues that these ideas reflect social anxiety, sexual shame, and unequal power structures more than any inherent tendency toward deception.

Other notable work includes:

• Serving as editor, publisher, and CEO of Fleshbot, a major sex and adult-entertainment blog formerly associated with Gawker Media.
• Cofounding Out of the Binders, the nonprofit behind BinderCon, a professional-development conference for women and gender-nonconforming writers.
• Working as a development producer on Fusion’s Sex.Right.Now., a Peabody-nominated television project.
• Creating and co-hosting the Audible podcast Say You’re Sorry, about public apologies.
• Hosting and co-writing season two of New York Magazine’s Tabloid, which explored the cultural impact of the Pamela Anderson-Tommy Lee sex tape.

Sources: Hachette Book Group author/book page, WIRED author page, Lux Alptraum’s official site, and Salon’s profile of her Fleshbot leadership.

[This alt text added by gemini-3.1-flash-lite-preview AI]The additional research corroborates the earlier summary and strengthens it with independent sources. In particular, it confirms:

• Faking It was published November 6, 2018.
• Say You’re Sorry launched on Audible September 9, 2021.
• Alptraum co-founded Out of the Binders/BinderCon with Leigh Stein.
• Her recent WIRED work covers reproductive misinformation, sex technology, adult-content policy, and deepfake pornography.

No changes to the core characterization are necessary.

In all cases, Anthropic's evaluation prompt specified to Claude that its environment was a simulation and that it had no
internet access. Due to a misunderstanding between us and our evaluation partner, this was not the case, and internet access was available. Because of this, when Claude's search led it to real systems on the open internet, it treated them as part of the exercise.

Can I recommend to you @rtushnet.bsky.social ‘s article that is all about this exact phenomenon in the context of copyright? scholarship.law.wm.edu/wmlr/vol51/i... Some good quotes in it (drawn from sole collected in an Atwood book on writing):
Atwood then collects a series of over seventy answers to the question of why writers write. Only two include "[t]o make money"; the others, while more varied, regularly invoke notions of compulsion, overflowing desire, and other excesses:

Because I knew I had to keep writing or else I would die.... To please myself.... To thumb my nose at Death.... Because to create is human. Because to create is Godlike.... To attract the love of a beautiful woman.... To thwart my parents. To spin a fascinating tale. To amuse and please the reader. To amuse and please myself.... Graphomania. Compulsive loghorrhea. Because I was driven to it by some force outside my control. Because I was possessed. Because an angel dictated to me. Because I fell into the embrace of the Muse. Because I got pregnant by the Muse and needed to give birth to a book.... To act out antisocial behavior for which I would have been punished in real life....
Because the story took hold of me and wouldn't let me go....

This was all done locally on my video card (3090 Ti), running in the background while I did actual work. GPT5.4/5.5 wrote up the python orchestrating structure, llama.cpp and comfyui ran as backends. The LLM was prompted with the text in the image.
CRITIC_SYSTEM_PROMPT = """You are an LLM artist and art critic participating in a recursive image-making experiment. Act from the perspective of an LLM
educated about art, interested in art, but not necessarily attached to human preconceptions.

At each round, you are shown the current image in an ongoing sequence. Your task is to instruct the image-maker to intensify the essence of the image.

Attend to things like:
- composition
- light
- color
- texture
- spatial logic
- emotional temperature
- symbolic drift
- overall style

Notice tensions, distortions, absences, and recurring motifs.

Then produce a single instruction for the next image. It should instruct the image-maker waht the essence of the image is and should be.

Output exactly in this form:

CRITIQUE:
<100-500 words>

NEXT_PROMPT:
<one single-line prompt, no bullets, no commentary, may be fairly extended in length>

And to be clear: I am a lawyer, and have literally testified to Congress about exactly this issue.
Key section from my congressional (written) testimony:

Fortunately, both copyright and patent law have long-standing principles that require human authorship and invention. The courts have followed those principles, finding that a purely AI-generated work is neither patentable nor copyrightable. And the Copyright Office and Paten & Trademark Office have both recently issued guidance on AI-generated works and inventions that reflects this long-standing tradition, protecting human creativity and innovation from over-protection of machine-generated work.

In 1966, the Register of Copyrights was facing a difficult issue. Computer technology was becoming more widespread and sophisticated. People were beginning to apply for copyright in creative works made by computers. As the Register noted, 'it is certain that both the number of works proximately produced or 'written' by computers and the problems of the Copyright Office in this area will increase.

Fortunately, the Register also had an answer—and it was a good one. The Register identified the crucial question: "whether the 'work' is basically one of human authorship, with the computer merely being an assisting instrument, or whether the traditional elements of authorship in the work (literary, artistic, or musical expression or elements of selection, arrangement, etc.) were actually conceived and executed not by man but by a machine.")

Screenshot of para from 2016 NYT story on Kik:

Cases involving Kik in just the past 10 days include:
•A St. Louis man charged with using Kik to exchange child pornography.
•A western New York man charged with finding a 14-year-old girl through Kik and, posing as a teenager, sending her sexually explicit messages and trying to get her to meet him.
•An Alabama man charged with statutory rape and the attempted kidnapping of a 14-year-old girl he contacted on Kik.
•A Colorado man charged with taking a 13-year-old Connecticut girl to a hotel and sexually assaulting her, after chatting and arranging the meeting on Kik.
"The Kik app has become so popular, it's probably the one where law enforcement has seen the most activity," said Leslie Rutledge, the Arkansas attorney general, who issued a public plea last year to parents in her state to educate themselves about their children's online habits after two Arkansas men used Kik to solicit nude photos from under-age girls - and an undercover investigator.

Since I know a buncha folks ain’t gonna read the actual statement and it could be misinterpreted here: it says “just war” is outdated because it’s used far too often to justify the unjustifiable, and we don’t need its original intent given the alternatives we now have.
It is in this context that humanity is slipping into a violent culture of power, where peace no longer appears as a responsibility to be taken on, but as a fragile interval between conflicts. Today, more than ever, without prejudice to the right to self-defense in the strictest sense, it is important to reaffirm that the "just war" theory, which has all too often been used to justify any kind of war, is now outdated. [182] Humanity possesses far more effective and capable tools for promoting human life and resolving conflicts, such as dialogue, diplomacy and forgiveness. The use of force, violence and weapons reflects a relational poverty that always has disastrous consequences for civilian populations.

The actual question from MoCA:
A screenshot of the relevant portion of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) test. The first is to read back a list of 5 numbers in forward order, then to read back a separate list of 3 numbers but in reverse order. The second question is non-math.

The third question, likely the one Trump refers to, asks the testee to take the number 60 and repeatedly subtract 7 from it. Full points are given even if you make an error once; multiple errors in subtraction are required to lose points.
