Then the line “Sorry that saying sorry is the least we can do.”

Content Warning: Police Brutality
The Protect Our NDIS Alliance condemns the arrests and the use of excessive police force following today's peaceful Melbourne/Naarm rally against proposed cuts to disability supports.
During the rally, a peaceful protester was arrested. In a second incident a protester was knocked from their bicycle onto tram tracks by police. A third protester who stopped to assist them was injured by police and subsequently detained. Accounts from our community of the use of pepper spray and excessive force are deeply concerning.
People with disability had gathered to fight for the NDIS supports that allow us to survive, participate in our communities and live with dignity. We will not accept being silenced, intimidated or criminalised when speaking out.
Page 2 of 3Protect Our NDIS Alliance
Content Warning: Police Brutality
Our community is already living with fear and uncertainty as the Federal Labor Government pursues changes that will strip people of essential supports and push disabled people deeper into poverty, isolation and crisis.
Responding to peaceful community action with arrests and extreme force is deeply concerning and sends a dangerous message to disabled people and our allies who are trying to defend their rights and their lives.
We stand in solidarity with those arrested. We support the right of those impacted to pursue legal action and seek accountability for the harm caused.
We also want to thank everyone who has protested, organised, shared information, supported those arrested and helped grow this movement. Community solidarity matters, and our community will continue to fight
these cuts to the NDIS that threaten the lives, dignity and rights of disabled people.
