Transformers was one of the first comics 4-year-old me ever read, and a big reason why I'm a writer - so it's a double delight to buy a book on its fandom, crafted by a writer who has influenced me over the past 20 years (and who is also a total all-round gent). Thanks @jroberts332.bsky.social!

Rung, from a #Transformers comic you may have heard of called #MTMTE and also a part of the #LostLight crew from the IDW days. Done for my recent Whatnot stream.

I don't even know what to say. This is real, this is true, so, like, thank you all, from the bottom of my heart. This took over 25 years to happen so if there's any lesson here it's either "keep at it, who knows" or "many people are divorced"

MTMTE Books 2026 I need to find a US (and Canadian?) distributor if the six latest MTMTE books (ie Chaos Theory onwards) are to find their way across the Atlantic, as new rules mean I can’t send packages if they weigh more than 2kg. Plus: tariffs and already-high shipping costs

“Spaceship” contains my first stab at issue #7 (this was its original title), introducing the DJD. It was so extensively rewritten that I thought people would be interested in seeing it (for the first time)

150

James Roberts @jroberts332.bsky.social · 17/07/2026

The four new releases are: Life After The Big Bang (MTMTE #4, #5) You, Me & Other Revelations (MTMTE #6, Annual 2012) Trilogy (Spotlights Hoist, Trailcutter, Orion Pax) The Spaceship That Bled To Death (original MTMTE #7, final #7, #8)

James Roberts @jroberts332.bsky.social · 17/07/2026

NEW FOR 2026 At TFNation I’ll be releasing the latest volumes in the Annotated Script Series. Four volumes this year, to make up for the fact that The Generation Mechs Companion has been delayed until 2027 so I can do it justice (it’ll be a huge book, with 1000+ images of zines and other ephemera)

Picked up from the post today: Generation Mechs, @jroberts332.bsky.social 's history of 90s Transformers fandom. I wasn't there, I didn't even speak English yet, I was in deep Finland buying secondhand G1 comics of the Finnish run; but one gotta know one's roots because all stories are arcs.
