Was very surprised to see these sandhill cranes at Ridgefield NWR. It's quite early - they are fall visitors generally. The pictures are lousy because of distance and wildfire smoke, but appears to be two adults feeding and a juvenile sitting nearby. #sandhill_crane #birds #RidgefieldNWR

An albino nutria at the Ridgefield NWR. I went online to confirm as it wasn't very close to me, and it has definitely been reported this summer. It hung around for a little while and then disappeared into the grasses. #RidgefieldNWR #nutria #nature

Anyone know what this bird is? Merlin suggests a juvenile brown headed cowbird, which I would agree with except for the white markings on its shoulders. Do young cowbirds have those? Not the greatest pictures as I'm taking them from a low resolution video bird cam. #backyard_birds #birds
