Effectively wondering if we can organize a small PSA to international vintage equipment enthusiasts. Raising awareness of eBay's compliance to the new US e-Waste export law leading to destruction of a lot of "as-is" and "for parts" vintage equipment before it crosses the border.

Wonder if any of the big reach vintage/retro YouTubers would consider a short PSA video for maximum eyes? Honestly being abroad and buying anything "as-is" or "for parts" on eBay from the USA seems to be a death sentence for vintage equipment.

I guess this e-waste control thing caught me off guard. In the back of my mind I knew it was happening, but always happening "to someone else". I don't know if there's a way to amplify this any more than it's been already.

My first use is to help create a silicone mold for replicating the SGI Octane's unobtainium door. I don't want to scan the door to produce the replica, I want to scan the door to create a silicone mold container that is space efficient by somewhat hugging the curves of the door. Eeeeet cetera.

Bought a 3DMakerPro Fox to help in prototyping. I have no real expectations about what I'm getting for the price, but to help create initial reference geometries I think it'll be a good tool at a reasonable spend.

But also like… this is probably how things should be, and consumerism can take a day off lol. If I needed a drugstore I found one easily enough. Maybe not 2 minutes away but I wasn’t in danger of dying. Honestly? Preferred.

Although the entire city shuts down on Sundays, including drug stores. Which is.. something I'm not used to. Had to hunt around for ibuprofen. When in doubt, the big central stations tended to have open shops. Bless, Ostbahnhof.

Got a head cold to finish off my last two nights in Germany, but it's just as well that I take it easy since my feet are dead. At least it's easy to medicate and just means a lot of blowing my nose. Considering I lucked out with no Con Crud after Calfurry right into my trip, I'm pretty happy!

Trip winds up in three days. So much more to see and do than I can jam in. Definitely think I’ll be coming back to Germany. Maybe next time I can try to time it with EF. But definitely want to explore more southern Germany, Austria, etc.
