Modesty .
a warm image of a feminine torso twisting and wrapped in silk and pearls. its deceptive becase the light feels green, the shadows are cold, but the dominant colours are warm - pink skin and pale sheer silk and a thousand pearls on countless strands - all warm colours and soft so the warm light makes the grain of the photo more velvety, more rich and deep. The photo of of a torso and hip and legs, the feminine torso is wrapped in silk, fabric twisted and folded and ruffled in a way reminiscent of 18th century sculptures. the pearls add luster, flowing along the rolling line of hip and thigh, defining the softness of the fabric with their shine. At the bottom of the image there is the barest hint of black latex thigh highs. Adding darkness and gravity.

sometimes, violence is the answer . www.deepdesirespress.com/little-viole...
In the sweltering heat of a Savannah summer, a missing Civil War-era photo album sets two strangers on a collision course of danger, desire, and obsession.

Brock Charleston—a private investigator with a penchant for finding what shouldn’t exist—is hired to recover the photo album after its seller is brutally murdered. The deeper he digs into Savannah’s underground erotic world, the more the whispers start pointing toward one unlikely witness: Ronnie Barbarian, a queer tattooed cellist grieving her grandmother—and hiding a past she refuses to name.

Ronnie wants nothing to do with Brock or the violent world circling around her. Brock wants nothing to do with the sharp, magnetic pull he feels toward her. But when a second threat emerges, the two are forced together in a collision of grief, heat, and unraveling secrets.

Desire turns dangerous. Trust turns intimate. And the album—if it exists at all—may be worth killing for. But the hardest thing for Brock will be confronting the one thing he’s never risked: wanting something for himself.

do hard things on purpose .
A portrait orientation photo in warm colours with a soft suede grain. Mounds of blush pink flesh, twisted and pushed plump by thick elastic bands and many pearls. Hips and thighs in a round soft confusion of angel and orientation and perspective on a lace covered bed. In some places the skin is pink where elastics have pressed deep and moved away, leaving a mark. A portrait orientation photo in warm colours with a soft suede grain. Warm colors and soft tones. Abstract shaoes, the hips and waist.all bent together, creating an abstract of body in blush pink flesh and body suit, twisted and pushed plump by thick elastic bands and many pearls. A hand, flushed from pressure reach into frame, puls at a strap that might real more of the contorted body.

Trans PI Brock Charleston takes on Civil War myths in the South, fixated erotic art collectors, and meets a woman who changes everything he thinks he knows about the difference between secrets & lies, lust & love.... . a.co/d/0enGkxeb . #QueerRomance #BookSky #Erotica #TransRomance #Noir .
cover of a book entitled "little violence" - a queer Noir romance set in the Southern United States, about the difference between secrets and lies, lust and love, and how things worth dying for are also worth killing for, It is a story of obscured and partial truths.

The cover is a plume of billowing white smoke, The title is written in stark letters filling the frame, smokey grey and partially hidden by plumes of smoke. The tagline ' a queer southern romance' and my name 'lauren jane k' are more visible. The cover has a faint pink undertone, a little blush of innocence it most certainly does not deserve.

My understanding is that the technology and expertise involved in corrective eye surgery has radically improved from when I last toyed with the idea. I do still get a little hesitant with the thought "wait you're going to shoot lasers into my eyeballs while I watch?!"

For the first time in... Ever? I'm considering some kind of corrective eye surgery. I've enjoyed being a glasses guy for the past six years or so - I stopped wearing contacts over the pandemic and leaned into the Round & Rimless aesthetic. But now I'm thinking maybe correction would be good.

I was working TIFF that year, at the Varsity, for Press & Industry screenings. I remember the growing chaos of people walking out of screenings, the line up for phones, the jammed cell signals. The staff doing what they can, some handing their mobile phones over to see if calls could get through.

Discworld QOTD, from Men at Arms
The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money.
Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars.
Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in Ankh-Morpork on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles.
But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time, while the poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.
This was the Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socioeconomic unfairness.

rope .
a colour photo, tones cool as rain water. a pale feminine person in a black heart bodice bodysuit, with their throat exposed is pressed up against the left edge of the photo - breaking the border and the rules of composition, edge of the iming their body out of view. Their hair is tied up in a long braid and wrapped in rope, which is strung up somewhere over head, out of the image. their arm reaches back, gripping the rope, so it is their own hand pulling up their hair, baring their throat, pulling themselves higher.
