This is why you have to acquire the Patrick Baileys of the world when they’re available. Especially when it only costs you a tugboat.

By retiring two batters, Yoshinobu Yamamoto just moved into sole possession of fourth place in Dodgers history in postseason innings pitched (63.2), passing Fernando Valenzuela (63.0) and Kenley Jansen (63.1).

A nonzero reason I remember the 2018 NLCS like it was yesterday is the ball-tip pens they handed out in the press box during the series. Durable. Reliable. Smooth writing. Many emerged from that press box with a pen that served them for years.

LA opted for a contact-oriented approach vs. Misiorowski. They whiffed on only 10% of swings against him, but got no extra-base hits in the game and grounded into 3 DPs. Fascinated to see how this approach changes against Harrison. Getting into the bullpen early doesn't matter if they can't score.

The Brewers, Rays and Guardians are giving us a banner postseason for competitive balance, just as MLB tries to convince us that none exists. Matt Arnold can downplay that all he wants; his players should use it as fuel until the tank is empty.

A Brewers executive dismissed MLB's economic concerns in a blunt answer
While MLB tries to impose a salary cap, arguing teams like the Brewers need financial help to compete, Matt Arnold took a dismissive stance.

Yes. It wasn’t as explicit as it could have been in MLB’s social posts, but it was explicit in MLBPA’s statement (after reading the more detailed proposal, I assume). Besides that, there’s no way owners agree to losing four home games a year without a salary cap.
