Once again @countbinface.bsky.social manages to make me feel more patriotic and proud to be British than 20 years of right wing whining and flag shagging ever managed.

Under a Binface government, anyone who doesn’t accept human-made climate change as fact will be sent back to school, from Year 1 right the way to A Levels, to see if anything goes in the second time round. #VoteBinface

To me, Radio 4 is a sacrosanct. Don't touch it. Don't damage it. I wrote to the Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy asking why all these cuts are necessary but got no response.

I didn't know wrens hunted in water. It must have good eye sight to find small food items at thst time of day. That wren sang a little song too: a happy wren. Thanks!

The UKHSA has issued an Amber heat-health alert for London until Tuesday 23 June. Please stay safe during the hot weather. Not everyone copes well in the heat, so check in on older neighbours, friends and family, young children and anyone who may find it difficult to manage.

Matt Brittin, you want to meet audiences “where they are". I'll tell you where I am . . . at 22:00, I'm listening to The World Tonight on #BBC Radio 4, and now you're going to cut it. I guess people over 40 don't count.* *Rant over.

Grim. Plenty of research showing public service broadcasting delivers real benefits to health of democracy. Yet here we are, in these polarised times, slowly starving our public service broadcaster.

I listen to The World Tonight every weeknight. The journalists are trusted and world class and the programme is always compelling. Surely this meets director-general Matt Brittin's goal of #BBC output with 'the highest audience values and impact'.

The common good is a set of shared commitments. To the rule of law. To democracy. To tolerance. To equal opportunity. To upholding the truth. We cannot have a functioning society without these shared commitments.
