The sicko's counterpart.
From the Swan Boy comic: the chef at Carrabba's peers through the window of the kitchen's door, genuinely enthralled that someone in the restaurant loves spaghetti.

I understand that being homeschooled doesn't automatically mean that a child is deprived of a proper education or healthy social exposure, but this comment seems totally absurd.
An image shared on Facebook that says, "Saying a homeschooled child is missing out on the school experience is like saying a lion in the wild is missing out because it never lived in a zoo."

Me, as I read our child's school's handbook espousing the Socratic method as the best method for discovering that the universe is orderly and purposeful and that there is Truth and Beauty:
A panel from Branson Reese's Swan Boy comic in which a Grizzly Bear named Cookiepuss contemplates killing the Athenians who found Socrates innocent. Swan Boy is a great comic. You should read it.

Found on one of the doors in our endocrinology clinic. Thanks, AI.
An A.I. generated picture of a person with several cartoon organs both inside and outside the person. There is a pair of kidneys with adrenal glands outside the person with an arrow indicating that the adrenal glands are supposed to be in the man's arms. Also, there is an additional pair of kidneys inside the man in their appropriate place. The "adrenal glands" appear a second time with an arrow indicating that they belong in the liver. Something is mislabeled as a thymus with an arrow indicating it belongs in the neck, but there is also an appropriately drawn thymus in its proper place. The primary gland is wearing a little top hat.

I continue to envy clever writers. www.theringer.com/2026/05/28/t...
An except from the linked article that reads, "This week, Pope Leo XIV presented his first papal encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, which addresses the tremendous moral, spiritual, and political challenges facing the world in the age of AI. It is perhaps the single most profound document ever released by a White Sox fan."

Someone told my patient she had a "memory seizure" - patient looked it up online and found that it described exactly what she was experiencing. I looked it up and the Google AI summary is the only place that mentions "memory seizures". Its listed sources don't even mention this term.
A screenshot of a Google AI summary. It talks about "memory seizures" as if they are well documented, distinct phenomena. The first few sources it lists do not mention the term "memory seizure" at all.

The illustrations for the Golden Books version of Goldilocks and the The Bears are top notch.

The fact that there is any other reason why people would get injured on this slide is remarkable enough, but the apparently real reason why people were getting injured on this loop-de-loop slide is wild.
A facebook post from an account called Historic Photographs. The picture shows a slide that ends with a vertical loop. The post text reads "In 1985, the infamous Action Park in New Jersey built this waterslide with this kind of loop at the end. It was only open for one month before shutting down due to many injuries. People were coming out with scratches and cuts all over them and they didn’t know why. Turns out there was a bunch of teeth embedded into the top of the loop."

I think discussing Pete Hegseth's alcoholism is important regarding his qualifications for one of the most important national security positions in the federal government. I think making fun of alcoholism is a bad look.
A screenshot of a Twitter exchange. The official account @TheDemocrats tweets, “.@PeteHegseth needs to go.” Pete Hegseth replies, “Your agenda is illegals, trans & DEI — all of which are no longer allowed @ DoD.” The Democrats then post a follow-up tweet: “Pete's POV:” followed by a blurry image of an iPhone home screen with app icons overlaid multiple times, representing confusion or distorted vision from being drunk.

The Canadian Society of Internal Medicine issued guidance to make internal medicine practices more climate friendly. immattersacp.org/weekly/archi...

    1. Do not prescribe IV antibiotics for patients who can safely be treated with an oral option.
    2. Do not prescribe heparin or low-molecular-weight heparin when oral options are effective, preferred by the patient, and felt to be safe by the prescriber.
    3. Do not prescribe greenhouse gas-intensive metered-dose inhalers if a greener alternative with comparable efficacy is available, technique is adequate, and patient preference has been considered.
    4. Do not recommend or order investigations or interventions before discussing patients' expected trajectory of health and life expectancy and exploring their goals of care.
    5. Do not continue medications without confirming their clinical indications, particularly for sedative medications, proton-pump inhibitors, and inhalers.
    6. Do not order daily blood tests on hospitalized patients if it will not change management.
    7. Do not use nonsterile disposable gloves when hand hygiene is sufficient.
    8. Do not schedule in-person follow-up appointments when a virtual visit is clinically appropriate and is preferred by the patient.

I often think about how Bird Box (2018) was supposed to actually reveal the monster but it was cut because Sandra Bullock thought it looked too funny to take seriously in her one scene with it.

I am always reminded of this XKCD comic when people talk about any aversion to learning Linux. Granted, Linux doesn't push ads on you and feels less bloated to me.
An XKCD comic parodying the Mac vs PC commercials that states there is no functional difference between the two since most people only use computers to surf the web.
