Results from the #InternetNZ AGM voting. Motion 1 - failed Motion 2 - passed Motion 3 - passed Motion 4 - passed Motion 5 - passed Motion 6 - passed Motion 7 - passed Motion 8 - failed Motion 9 - failed Big FSU turnout so a lot of burdensome motions got passed and we missed out on motions 1 & 8.

"Who care what the government thinks or does?" is a WILD take for the Prime Minister to be giving businesses. I guess he would prefer that we don't pay taxes, obey laws, and engage with regulators?

So... are those "No" lists okay? I did laugh a bit at this one as it seemed a bit targeted at me... 😂 But yes, leaving those who you find the worst off your list is fine. Just realise that if those candidates are the last ones standing you'll have no say in which one wins. #InternetNZ

Mostly, yes — leaving your least-favourites off the bottom
doesn't hurt your side. Those rankings are only looked at
after everyone you like is already settled, so they can't drag
your picks down — and skipping them boosts nobody.
Just know the trade: if the final seat comes down to two people
you skipped, your vote is already home. Ranking even people
you dislike, worst last, is your only say in the least-bad
outcome — and if you truly don't care which of them wins,
skipping them costs you nothing. The danger is never who you
leave off; it's how early you stop.
→ Follow a list if you like — just make sure it starts
with everyone you can tolerate.
Based on the official published InternetNZ election count reports (2024 and 2025)
and on thousands of simulated elections using the same counting rules, checked
line-by-line against those reports. “Ranking someone below others can never harm
those ranked above them” is a built-in mathematical property of this counting
system, not an opinion.

The world's oil reserves are running out
Oil experts fear global reserves are being sucked down by 100mbpd each week the Strait of Hormuz is closed. They see oil prices spiking over US$150/b from June & reserves effectively gone by September

This chart shows the oil reserves estimated by JP Morgan over the last six years or so. And you can see during COVID the reserves went up because we didn’t use so much fuel. Then during 2022 because US President Joe Biden released reserves onto the market to try to limit oil price rises after Russia invaded Ukraine. And then since the beginning of March, we’ve seen global oil reserves and in particular, the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve, drawn down heavily as Trump and others are desperate to try to contain the rise in oil prices.
