iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Decided to finish up a Xenoblade 2 NG+ file I started a few years ago when the NS2 edition dropped, and I finally finished it again today. This game has a of rougher edges compared to 1 and 3, but there's an earnestness at its core that connects with me more than the other two

It really sucks that old games arent allowed to just *exist*. They've become templetes for the "true" or "modern" versions that are made years later and then those new versions are used as ammo to attack the original

JP2427 @jp2427.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Direct was just kinda OK imo. Kirby and Metroid look sick but the rest was just ports I dont really care about. I feel like the Swtich 2 is still missing that "big" game, and I think now would have been a good time to at least tease one after the price increase 6/10

The Ocarina or Time remake is going to be the true litmus test for the effects of remake culture. If a game as historically significant as OOT isnt safe from being culturally replaced by its remake than nothing is

JP2427 @jp2427.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Not sure how I feel about the Ocarina of Time Remake tbh. Both visually and gameplay wise it doesn't really scream "Ocarina of Time" to me, its very clearly taking a lot from BOTW which gives me pause. Hopefully it will grow on me but we'll see I guess youtu.be/wuFfiTEr2yc?...

What is there to say about Xenoblade Chronicles that hasn't already been said. Such a phenomenal experience all around, I come out of it appreciating it even more every time I revisit it. 10/10 experience, everyone should give it a shot at least once

As time goes on, Im really getting sick of the way these Switch 2 Editions are priced. Logically, I get what they're going for, and I guess it's a testament to how Nintendo games "hold thier value", but imo re-releases like this would be way more appealing at like $40

This looks amazing. I'm a huge fan of how flashy the battle system appears to be. I really like how expressive the characters look in cutscenes and social links too. I was hesitant when it was first revealed but I think I'm sold. Can't wait for February! youtu.be/1osdiOAkBKc?...

I plugged in my PS3 to play the last few Ratchet and Clank games, and I was instantly hit with a wave of nostalgia. For how cumbersome it can be, I have a soft spot for the PS3 home screen. It has so much character, and I love the little splash screen most games have 😢

My polite and effective way of saying this is this screenshot and a heavy handed but gentle stare at…quite a few of you.

post from tumblr:
I need a polite and effective way to say "hey your heart is truly in the right place and your anger is often righteous but I think sometimes you're getting recreationally mad about things that are frankly not worth the amount of energy you're spending on them, and every time you do this you're driving yourself slightly more insane with nothing to show for it," and then I need a way to broadcast that message through a loudspeaker to roughly 30,000 people at once, and THEN I need a time machine to send that message to my past self lol. and maybe a second time machine in case past me tries to be clever and sabotage the version of me who comes through the first Time Machine

Replayed Wind Waker (GC version via NSO). Still easily a top 3 Zelda for me. I was dreading the Triforce hunt since I'd heard horror stories over the years, but it really wasn't that bad (it probably helps I was sailing around a lot for 100% though) Either way still love it!

I'm starting to get worried that Sega/Atlus is going to delist Persona 4 Golden when the remake comes out. They've been delisting a lot of games that have gotten remasters/remakes (Yakuza 0-3, original SMT 5, Sonic Gens) so I wouldnt put it past them. Hope Im wrong
