With my beloved grandma gone, what remains is her art. She loved painting. She joined a group of like-minded elderly ladies and always took a light-hearted approach to being creative. This is one of her watercolour works that I framed and put up above my couch, yesterday. It adds calm to my sadness.

(despite or rather because of my religious upbringing). Christmas is meaningless to me. Halloween on the other hand is now "my Christmas", I decorate, I bake, I send postcards and gifts. It makes me truly happy 😊 It's great to meet like-minded people like you here 🤗

I love that you're making Halloween your own special sanctuary 🎃🍂🦇 I can very much relate to you. Germany wasn't big on Halloween when I was little. My American family was a big influence though and I got curious at about 7 years old. When my dad suddenly died on November 1st 1997, I was 10.

I hate standing in front of a mirror trying to do something that apparently a huge portion of people even enjoy doing. No idea how to do eyes or apply rouge. Curling my hair? No idea. Plus: makeup is so expensive! When I see the price tags I think "nah, I'd rather buy books" and go for cheap brands😂

I think the personal style thing is less of an issue. I've told myself a while ago "as long as it makes you feel comfortable or even confident, it's your style". Makeup and hair is a different thing. I have an event coming up, no idea how to style my hair or do makeup properly.

Thank you 🥰 I honestly rarely feel confident in my clothes but this one is different. It was a bit expensive but at least I bought it at a small shop with a very friendly owner ☺️ I think me buying this dress made his day, he thanked me a lot 😅

I also invested in this green velvet dress that I found in a shop on Portobello Road in Notting Hill. On Saturday, I'm attending an award ceremony and it's the perfect occasion for this dress ✨💚✨
