I grew up going to scca and imsa races at Road Atlanta before it got nice, and @surber.bsky.social description of troughs smelling like piss and old cigarettes a) was dead on and b) brought back an incredible sense memory of that era

Loved the new show and looking forward to more but while I will never say nice things about USF, by now @stevengodfrey.bsky.social should know that neither I-4 school has been a "commuter" school since the literal 90s. Huge on/adjacent campus populations, vast majority under 25.

A switch has been attempted like this by the racing series that revolves around Le Mans- they wanted to make the June race the finale, so had a 14 month long Super Season in 18-19. They went back to a traditional calendar after 2020, the winter calendar made a mess of contracts and car rollouts.
