So, last night I read a story at this monthly reading series called Loose Lips. I was told that everyone was going to wear a costume, so, being the good sport that I am, I dressed up. No one else wore a costume! They missed out, though, because I looked great.

It’s simply not true that “no one has a good answer on what to do with rapists.” In fact, there is a depth of feminist scholarship on exactly this subject. It’s just that people won’t engage with it seriously since none of it says “nah you gotta be nice to the rapist cause that’s your buddy.”

Thanks to @briankeene.bsky.social I went and read "The Auctioneer" by Joan Samson. This can indeed be best described as "quiet horror". It kind of reminded me of "The Cormorant" as both have their slow pace and quite unique premises that ... Just work. Absolute recommendation.
