I hoped that Iñárritu and Cruise collaborating on Digger would elevate their strengths and diminish their individual weaknesses. Instead, the reverse happened: the combination of massive egos created a thuddingly obvious, insufferable film that thinks it's a lot smarter than it is.

I had a feeling this was coming. There’s no way to top Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones. But the ‘80s miniseries was also limited by budget and network television constraints. Considering the unlimited cash Netflix can throw at an 8-10 hour series, this could be something special.
