Cape Fear was ok but it was way too drawn out. knowing the original movie was 2hrs long, there’s absolutely no reason to spend 7+ hours telling the same story. should have been a 4 part mini series at most, and I have a pretty good attention span when it comes to film and tv.

I made Salt Bread for the first time over the weekend, with a crucial edit: I “pretzeled” the outside by dipping in an alkaline (bicarb soda) solution. the result was perfect. interior cavity created by the butter block and a chewy exterior crust. I think i will develop this further.

one of my (least?) favorite Dark Patterns is in the iOS Music app. I have never once used or wanted to search Apple Music for anything, and when I search in this app, my sole reason for doing so is to search my own Library, and yet, every single time the "Apple Music" tab is selected by default.

Useful for people who basically live in their browser and do not need six separate apps just to note a task, check a timezone, and find the copyright symbol again. Also the hour-by-hour view of your year is mildly unsettling, which is part of why it works.

this happens to be at least 3 times per month: 1. add new music to my plex library 2. "hey i should scan my library in plex" 3. open plex → click Music → sees "Cancel scan" 4. "cool! it's already scanning, i should see my new music here soon 🤗 ty plex!" 5. scan completes and new music isn't there 😩
