Americans are more likely today than they were a decade ago to connect climate change to human health, according to a new study by Climate Change in the American Mind — a project run jointly by @mason4c.bsky.social & @yaleclimatecomm.bsky.social

We need more stories that help people learn from what’s working. Not just what’s going wrong. Not just what “has to happen by 2050.” Real examples of action that others can see, understand & build on. Here's a 🧵on advice & tips for sharing #climate stories that actually inspire action.
Its a cycle.

Our latest research, led by @finejulia6.bsky.social, suggests: U.S. federal climate policy & health policy are not well integrated. Better integration can build support for climate policy & maximize mutual benefits. Education, coordination & advocacy are needed to advance climate-health policy.

Those profiting from industries driving the climate crisis try to convince policy makers & public that (i)experts can’t agree, and (ii)policies addressing climate change are unpopular. Neither is true. If you want stronger climate action-you are the majority. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

It's well documented that people often underestimate how much others care about climate change. In our new paper, we show 2024 UN Environment Assembly attendees underestimate global willingness to contribute 1% of income to climate action by nearly half (37% vs. 69%). www.nature.com/articles/s43...

As I think about a friend whose family lost their LA home yesterday, I feel anger at those who, as usual, insist that "now is not the time to talk about climate change" because it "politicizes" suffering. If we want to save lives, we must address climate change. theconversation.com/extreme-weat...
