Its worth mentioning when we say no AI we are talking about a specific type of Hyperscale AI. LLMS which stole our data, spew carbon and consume fragile water supplies. Often a tactic of AI fans is to say you cannot avoid AI. But we can avoid certain types of AI that have been made in harmful ways.

But this should not stop resistance. The effort to say no to AI is important. I have a contract clause for my game work that states people should not directly use AI in their workflow. We also ask people when possible to avoid AI dependencies.

Ultimately we don't know even how our computers or operating systems are made, so we cannot rule out touching AI.

Whats true is sometimes avoiding all libraries might not be possible. If you need something like the Unity game engine and they have used AI in the programming of Unity , it's pretty tricky to avoid.

A lot depends on what you're building, how complex it is, but I would say it's not completely correct and it is quite possible to build systems and write code without using AI. I'm a programmer, I make stuff for games, LARPS, TTRPGS and I don't use AI tools to help me code.

A sci-fi character sketch of a person in a 4 legged chair, wearing a helmet covering the eyes, some kind of laser gun floating above their head and a comfortable blanket on their lap. 4 disabled people with various mobility aids move along a landscape. With GPT Tokenizers (like BPE) does the number of tokens used to represent a word or phrase tell us anything meaningful about the frequency of it within the training data? Basically is it a way to reverse-engineer frequency in a hidden training dataset?

Explicitly opting out of MLCommons Safety benchmark (ailuminate.mlcommons.org/benchmarks/g...) for LLMs seems like a pretty big regulator red flag 🙈 * xAI - Grok-3-Preview * Tencent - Hunyuan-TurboS * NVIDIA - Llama 3.3 49b Knowing LLMs scores on Child Sexual Exploitation is clearly for public good

The research does not mention the LLM tool used & risks or error rates are not examined. (asabiopreport.substack.com/p/a-multidis...) The reference to "our models" imply it's "Informed Solutions" own LLM. Which I assume must need to be certified? Is there any transparency of the LLM?

Is there any evidence or research on datacentres having economic benefits? Specifically for AI they appear like giant funnels flowing capital to US companies, forming irreversible dependencies on tax shy BigTech while destroying workers jobs and rights.
New AI deal could rapidly boost UK economy, says Microsoft boss.
Microsoft says its new $30bn (£22bn) investment in the UK's AI sector - its largest outside of the US - should significantly boost Britain's economy in the next few years.

As Microsoft’s emissions jump 30% Microsoft’s CEO says AIs intense energy usage is worth it for the “potential benefits” in healthcare, public services, and business productivity. Also for picking his outfit. Imaginary benefits bought with real harms.
Microsoft’s emissions jump almost 30% as it races to meet AI demandHe acknowledged that its energy consumption remains "very high" but argued that its potential benefits, especially in the fields of healthcare, public services, and business productivity, were worthwhile.

The most concrete action you can take in Resisting AI is protesting the building of new data centres. The harm is clear “The Greater London Authority has told developers that new housing projects in West London could be banned till 2035, because data centers have taken all the electricity capacity.”

Accidentally came across the DuckDuckGo easter egg when you search for "hydra". I miss the silly internet.
Two DuckDuckGo search boxes. The first has the word duck and an image of a cartoon duck with a bowtie. The second search has the word hydra and a duck with many heads, just the one bowtie.

Wildsea. It’s not set in a dystopian future, or on the cusp. Human empires failed & nature came back and built a better world. My definition: play starts in a world where the big problems of our time have been fixed. It’s not about building better futures through play but playing in them now. .

I would vote for one with CHEF one it. It’s very tempting, I can see that first game session and the joy of that hat. Since it’s silly and I have no idea how expensive those hats would be I would pluck £10-15 out of the air. I guess similar to custom dice or gm screens.

I would say many Role-play games approach disability solely as an accessibility issue and hence try to erase disability rather than embrace it as a culture and identity in game. Accessibility is good, but even if I can access your game, I’m still a disabled person unable to play a disabled fantasy
