I found my #Shadowfist cards the other day. I am very happy. I’ve had those since the mid 90s. Thinking about creating a solo version of it, as I love the #FengShuiRPG this #CCG spawned.

Had a great weekend at Shadowcon playtesting Shadowfist: War for Reality in three, four and five player. It rocked. This is the game I wanted to make in 1994 but was too uncertain and hesitant to go for it. Hoping to share it more broadly soon.

I am going to Shadowcon in London at the end of this month. And I am bringing a prototype with me. This is the game I wished I created back in 1995. And a shot at a Golden Comeback. Play the demo and add your voice to its development. London's calling! www.shadowwarriors.co.uk/shadowcon-xx...

The core mechanics of Shadowfist was inspired by a movie called Bury Me High. In this movie two factions were fighting over a Feng Shui site. The conceit of the movie is that whoever had an ancestor buried inside this Feng Shui site would be granted powerful auspicious benefits. 1/

Thank you so much for the shout out good sir. I've been talking to lots of people over the past 16 hours, and its inspiring. It really makes me think what gaming is about. It isn't what I thought it was when I was 25.

in the "ancient niche fandom" category i was super excited to learn that @joseggarcia.bsky.social on here is the same Jose Garcia who auteured Shadowfist back in the day. Shadowfist was part of the early TCG explosion after M:tG's success; unlike most of those games it was both original and good.

Interesting shift, when people mention the EU now they often say "The EU and the UK" This is giving off "Great Britain and Northern Ireland" vibes.

A lot of people have frame the Spanish Prime Minister's recent bold statements as "owning the right" but there's a larger context at play. And yes, he's also owning the right.

Europe currently has naval and marine resources deployed to Greenland to deter and defend against Trump's stated ambitions (which worked). Now, Trump is asking Europe to send naval assets to support him in the Iran War. This is Caligula shit.

If you get or already have cancer the people working to save your life are using every "AI" technology (yes even the evil ones). Knowing this virtually no patient boycotts treatment. There is robust debate about this techs role in healthcare. Where is "Boycott AI" in that debate?

Russia has Trump as an ally. But Trump is largely useless. What they've done is galvanize their real rival, the EU, and unshackled them from America's restraint.

Cross country road trips in Spain are surreal. The interior is empty but not isn't wilderness either. An empty place curated by an unseen human presence. A walled graveyard, well maintained but with no sign of human habitation for over 20 km in any direction. Stuff like that constantly.

What folks need to realize about "peace talks" is that this is all theater for Washington. Ukraine knows that Russia has no intention of stopping the war, and the Russians know the Ukrainians know that. So this is just all a performance for Trump, hoping he blames the other for the lack of peace.

The UK wants the EU to treat them as equals. But the EU is composed of 27 member states. By demanding equal status with the EU in toto the UK is demanding it be treated as the most important country in Europe over and above the interests of EU member states.

It basically skins bacteria alive and has a very simple molecular structure. Pencillin needs to get into a bacteria and jam a organelle inside the bacteria like gum in a lock. Powerful but also evolutionarily tenuous. Interesting source, nothing kills bacteria better than other bacteria.

Spain is thriving now because 1898, and then 1975, left it as the big Western state with the fewest illusions about its place in the world. That's why, today, it's the European player with the most globally open and realistic foreign policy.

You can only fight post truth politics with technocratic means if: a) the post truth forces are small and lack support and b) the society is high trust with strong institutions. Otherwise it means mass political engagement.

We think of evidence based medicine as this time honoured tradition but contemporary evidence review is only thirty years old. Most people don't even know what it is. This makes it an easy target for attack by the far right (RFK etc) Defending it must be broad based not purely technocratic.
