I think breadtube is deadtube. Like yeah there's still video essayists who do good stuff, but it's overwhelmingly shallow takes by people who just do synopses of stuff and then say "oh jeez that was bad!". The artistic intent is gone from the genre.

I suspect this is something that is metatextually addressed in the 4th film going by my friend's joker 2 analogy, but I've yet to find out :p

Artistically, I think it was the most reasonable way to go for the series. The direction the general audience probably would've preferred is that of the Matrix becoming a series of good but ultimately shallow action flicks, a la John Wick.

I think a large part of the critique stems from people who just wanted more of the first film and didn't like that it spent a lot of time on worldbuilding and character relationships.

I actually haven't seen the third one before!! But I think the second one is good, and it's supposedly the weakest of the trilogy.

Looking back I think there's a horror in the fact that both of us are well acquainted with this dichotomy and it is so normalised for us. But it's not very strange. The two encapsulate the two things trans women are widely valued for in this world.

I remember a while ago, a friend asked me a where the occupation of DJ falls on the programmer-sex worker spectrum. I told her, without skipping a beat, that it falls squarely in the middle because you gotta know your tech but you also gotta be a li'l slutty with it.

If it's a question of speakers only, I'd suggest IRs. They're more than accurate enough as long as you don't fuck with pushing the speakers beyond their limits, or I guess if you want to be really specific about mic'ing. My personal go-to is Dr. Bonkers. I think he has a free variety pack.

You clearly care about being good to your friends. I think a horrible person would simply not care about that, or make excuses for poor behaviour.

There's so many steps between making social missteps and being a horrible person. Everyone makes social missteps, that's an inevitable part of communication. The latter requires cruel intent IMO, which I don't think you have.

Insomnia-watched the new He-Man film. No coherent thesis to be made out despite really trying to imply that there is one. CG constantly varying wildly in quality. Tone constantly goes between Whedonesque, worshipping 80's He-Man, and mocking 80's He-Man. Three separate post-credits scenes.
