I rode on the 222s a couple of times when I did a semester abroad in 2024, and as a tall person, I didn't like them, couldn't stand upright in the door area, and the seats had particularly bad leg space, the (one, so limited sample size) HST and IET rides I had were significantly more pleasant

I'm happy to share, that my first paper has recently been published: doi.org/10.1002/chem... We propose a model to predict excitonic couplings in molecular aggregates based on the monomer transition density. #compchem #compchemsky [1/2]

Rationalising Exciton Interactions in Aggregates Based on the Transition Density
Exciton coupling in organic chromophores is revisited through the lens of the transition density. The presented formalism gives insight into the strength and sign of the coupling based on the relativ...

Comic. A snake slithers around a hypercube. No two non-consecutive parts of its coils can be on adjacent corners. [Three small 4-dimensional hypercubes showing disallowed options with one large cube with snake wrapped around it. Dimensions = 4. Max Length - 7.] Snake(N) = Longest snake that can fit in an n-dimensional hypercube. Snake(N=1, 2, 3…8) = 1, 2, 4, 7, 13, 26, 50, 98. Snake(N>8) = UNSOLVED. [caption] It turns out every scientific field has a key thought experiment that involves putting a cute animal in a weird box for no reason. So far, quantum mechanics and graph theory have found theirs, but most other fields are still working on it.

This would imply, that they are consequential and logical in their actions and it's not just a (transparent as glass) cover for their bigoted hatred against anyone different from them... But they constantly "forget" that trans men exist, as this invalidates their arguments for banning trans people

The green blobs show where there are 'more electrons than usual', and you can see that it 'wobbles' back and forth along the chain, with the frequency corresponding to the one of the electromagnetic field of the absorbed light

Jo @jorigami.bsky.social · 24/11/2024
It's kind of right, the electrons along the chain of double bonds react to an excitation of a specific frequency. The video shows a quantum-chemical calculation I did of the excitation of a carotine molecule.
