868-BACK has a difficulty modifier called “Vibe progging!” where it ignores which ability you want to use and picks a move at random from the set of valid moves. Incredible.

I have been blessed by two separate Wienermobile sightings in less than six weeks, one in Salt Lake City and one in Chicago
Wienermobile parked, partially obscured by a bush, with mountains in the background, in Salt Lake CityWienermobile in traffic, stopped at a traffic light. The foreground is motion-blurred. In Chicago.

I took my first ever milky way pic last night at 3am! I’m very tired but it excited me a lot
night pic of the milky way above above a big ol’ bush. It’s visually ambiguous if it’s a hill or if the camera is tilted wrong but it’s a hill. The stars have some movement trails from the long exposure but you only notice when you zoom in. The milky way is a bit faint but hey it’s my first one.

GitHub with its one 9 emailing me about the release of the Copilot CLI, lol, rofl even. I don’t want a Copilot CLI I want @github.com actions to not have multiple outages in a 24 hour span. GitHub really seems to be on the path to collapse.

indeed the inspiration took place in Montauk, which I found out earlier this year when I walked by some signs warning me of unexploded ordinance en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montauk...
A sign that reads “DANGER: stay in marked trail” and warns the reader of unexplored ordinance nearby.A large and derelict satellite dish tower is seen looming over a misty trail

it's the logo for the game Theme Hospital. The logo is a green cross, but there's a cartoon doctor injecting it with a needle and it's spraying green stuff out its back.

same dude on lobste.rs offering up the helpful point that slavery has produced some neat products. lobste.rs/s/42qb2p/i_a...
post from Mitsuhiko on lobster.rs: Lots of innovation can through non ethical processes and that does not prevent us from using them today. Many products descent from slave labor or human rights abuses. You would have to reject a lot of modern medicine if you want to opt against innovation that at one point in their history did not do horrific things on a scale much worse than abstract IP theft

ok, an update: I made this comment in a thread about this @mcsweeneys.net piece: www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/i-w... since then, lobste.rs admins took it down the thread for not relating to computing. You can't make this stuff up!

am I reading this right? responses sum to 78.5%, so 21.5% of survey respondents did not answer this question? 60% of experienced devs (10+ years experience) that responded indicate they either somewhat or highly distrust the output of AI coding tools? lol survey.stackoverflow.co/2025/ai#deve...
StackoverFlow developer survey result. The description reads:

More developers actively distrust the accuracy of AI tools (46%) than trust it (33%), and only a fraction (3%) report "highly trusting" the output. Experienced developers are the most cautious, with the lowest "highly trust" rate (2.6%) and the highest "highly distrust" rate (20%), indicating a widespread need for human verification for those in roles with accountability.

The raw results for experienced devs show 2.5% of respondents highly trust AI outputs, 28.6% somewhat trust AI outputs, 26.7% somewhat distrust AI outputs, and 20.7% highly distrust AI outputs.

graph of my outgoing bandwidth showing when I stopped letting Anthropic repeatedly re-download QMK firmware from me which, and I can't stress this enough, consists almost entirely of data they're already scraped from other people and that's freely available anywhere.

i love this guy
a low-resolution 3d skeleton mage, which is an early art asset from Diablo 2. The mage's left hand is consumed in a large fireball and in his right hand he's holding a brown wooden staff. The top of the staff is in the shape of a cobra's head, but it has googly eyes.
