Reposted by JontyPeter Smith @redpeter99.bsky.social · 25/09/2026It's no surprise the Reform poll numbers are tanking. A collection of racists, thugs and gobshites with little ability or work ethic making a pig's ear of running local councils led by a charmless thin skinned grifter isn't a winning combination. 67615
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Apparently, the "patriots" are gathering at Basingstoke police station tonight, according to some crap on Facebook. Assuming Danny Thomas is there? What shite! 010
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Interesting to see the voting in intentions in Germany. Maybe time to suggest restablishing East and West Germany again. 010
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Watched a clip on Facebook of one of the regular Crowborough protests. Another anti asylum centre protest. A 50 something protest supporter viciously lashed out at a counter protester. Real hate in his face. Apparently, he may have some form as a Chelsea fan/hooligan. 331
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Still no comment from Andy Burham about the Piddington and RNLI threats. Keeping silent won't persuade the thugs and the haters to vote Labour. But calling them out will likely win some votes from the decent majority. Fill the bloody vacuum that you are currently leaving for bigots to exploit. 1172
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Andy Burnham really needs to say something about the Piddington and RNLI intimidation. Can somebody not get him on a bus to visit Portsmouth or Piddington, perhaps with a thermos or two of tea? 1248
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Starting to worry that the most dangerous extremism we face are the small groups of "patriot" groups springing up. While not sophisticated, they do seem able and willing to coordinate. And they seem to be getting bolder. A real concern. 120
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 16/09/2026If there is good base security and a small mobile Military Police contigent deployed at the military base near Piddington, to temporary house people going through the asylum process, that should address the safety concerns of residents, no? If not, it makes you wonder what they really want/mean. 060
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Watching Arlene Foster, enthusiastic Brexiteer pouring scorn on the idea that the Union may come to an end, on Sky News. Performative nonsense is basically her view. 110
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Good to hear Paul Nowak's voice over the last couple of days. The TUC has been too quiet in recent years. He seems a decent General Secretary who talks sense. In this toxic environment, it's important that people like him, in key influential positions, step up. 010
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 11/09/2026I see that the AfD leader in Saxony-Anhalt, Ulrich Siegmund, was previously a fragrance salesman. There is some continuity, though, with his politics, with the clear stench of fascism coming through. 131
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Interesting to see the hostility to the proposed UK tourist /holiday tax. 5% on hotel prices (potentially) does seem high though. £2 or so per night would be better. But, many countries in Europe have this tax. And they plough it back into providing services/infrastructure. 020
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Good to see the Met is investigating the Reform donations. It will be interesting to see what they discover. 110

Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 08/09/2026One thing that the South Coast thugs have conveniently done is take the interest away from the Farage donations story and the Reform conference. Not sure if this is linked or just a lucky break for Farage. But these days, who knows. 232
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 07/09/2026I'm assuming most of the Dover thugs had to go home by train as the police would have arrested them if they'd have tried to get back in the rental vans? 041
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 07/09/2026Saw a stat that 42% of 18 - 24 year olds voted for AfD in Saxony Anhalt yesterday. While I understand the state may be a bit of an outlier compared to the rest of Germany, it's rather depressing and worrying that such a high proportion of young people have voted for an extremist party. 140
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 05/09/2026The problem with deliberate shit stirring to make people angry is that after a while, people just stay perpetually angry. And those that did the shit stirring end up having no control over how that anger may unwind. 042
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Beth Rigby, back on Sky News after her summer break, seems to have decided that every word ending in "ing" needs to lose the "g". She used to drop the occasional "g" in her reporting. No problem with that. But every single "ing" is a bit grating. Am I just a harsh, miserable old bastard? 331
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 04/09/2026If Reform does implode, it will be interesting (and no doubt rather depressing) to see where their vote goes. I suspect it'll be a relatively equal split between Restore and the Tories. The rotten thing is that even if Farage and Reform disappear, the toxicity they've enabled remains. 242
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 04/09/2026So if, as Farage claims, Reform have not taken any "dodgy money", why have Dan Dukes and James Orr stood down from their positions. Seems daft to do that if they've acted legimately, doesn't it? 272

Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 17/08/2026So Richard Tice says we should adapt to climate change rather than try to stop/mitigate it. Idiotic, short-term thinking. But he's not thinking beyond his life. Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 13/08/2026I would love it if Count Binface won. But, Farage has made himself look like a total arse by triggering the by-election. And, if he wins, the attention will turn back to his financial dealings again. Hopefully, even Teflon Nigel won't be able to get out of the tangled web he's ensnared in. 3193
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 10/08/2026One bloody megadingy and Sky News refers to it as a crisis. Such irresponsible and dangerous journalism. 040
Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 08/08/2026The US tariff refunds to many US businesses, rather than individual US customers who paid for the goods attracting them, are either essentially now acting as boosts/subsidies to businesses or rewards to them. Was that the intention all along? 000

Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 31/07/2026Watch some YouTube videos involving sovereign citizens in the US. My goodness. Absolutely mad. Some of the people probably need psychological interventions. Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 30/07/2026Just saw an Instagram clip of two GB NEWS commentators speculating how the Suffolk wildfire started. Going through reasons why it might have started that aren't climate change. How it started is secondary. Climate change is causing tinder dry landscapes. That's why it burns so readily. Utter twats. 061

Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 21/07/2026Andy Burnham is proposing a £2 cap on fares. Good. And will work well enough in cities. But in smaller towns and rural areas, may cause capacity issues. There needs to be some extra money so extra capacity can be introduced, where there is a need. 120

Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 21/07/2026Interesting reshuffle from Andy Burnham. A lot of new shuffling around/new appointments which will mean an element of disruption as they settle in. But the two Ministers who have been the most criticised are kept in post. 230

Jonty @jonty24.bsky.social · 18/07/2026Small boat crossings seem to have reduced significantly in recent months. Better prevention. And perhaps benefitting from tighter EU access rules. Media seemingly losing interest. Wonder if they'll be back on the case once Andy Burnham is PM. 2124
