FYI the ad experience on X is horrible. Just uncountable dogshit ads spammed into my feed. I might be able to configure the pihole to stop them but I doubt it.

Visited Calder Gardens this weekend. Pros: Incredible harmony of art and building. Possibly the best modern act of architecture in Philadelphia. Cons: Not one single piece of text anywhere. Who is Calder? When did he make this stuff? I have no further idea after visiting.
A red Calder sculpture. Dunno anything more about because the museum doesn't bother to explain anything.

I have a healthy pile of unread books. But buying more than one book a day for two years? And making taxpayers pay for it? Just outrageous.

There's a pocket of Philly that's nearly impossible to believe: old farmhouses, hundreds of acres of forest, foxes running across front yards. Now squeezed by development and climate change, what will it take to preserve this last bit of wild Philadelphia?

The Final Wilderness in Philadelphia Is Under Attack
Upper Roxborough is the last rural corner of Philadelphia, a place where forests and fields reign. Squeezed by development and climate change, how much longer can it last?

YES: "Hustle," because Philadelphia. "All That Breathes," small but very moving. "See How They Run," light fare but satisfying and Rockwell and Ronan are great. NO: "Ticket to Paradise." It succeeds in depicting beautiful people in beautiful places. That's about it.

The Phillies haven’t won a playoff series in 1,086 days. Is this exit the end of an era? (Gift Article)
The Phillies have lost 12 of their past 16 postseason games. Another October exit raises more questions about this core’s contention window.

Random music fact: The identity of the female backing vocalist in Live's "Lightning Crashes" remains unknown, according to Wikipedia. I also assume it has to be only radio hit to use the word "placenta."

On Sept. 28, 1928, Alexander Fleming made a historic discovery: penicillin. Use the article “a” before consonant sounds: a historic event, a one-year term (sounds as if it begins with a w), a united stand (sounds like you).

Is Chestnut Hill West on the Reading side? It's hard to tell on that map. In general, I wonder how they are going to balance the two sides if the goal is consistent end-of-line pairings for the less frequent regional lines.

Another great iOS/MacOS feature: The janky-ass parental controls. Kid wants to add an app? One parent gets a notification and one doesn't. Managing screentime limits by app is nearly broken. Random apps get added to the time-limit pool despite me saying they should have no limits.
