Avery Johnson started throwing the ball TO his receivers, but they weren't doing a great job of catching the ball. The defense had no answer for the run game, and a disastrous third quarter was the dagger. Jon's recap, thoughts, players of the game:

FINAL: Cincinnati Bearcats 31, Kansas State Wildcats 26 | Bring On The Cats
It’s a familiar refrain from the past: a disastrous third quarter doomed the Kansas State Wildcats to defeat.

I dunno what Cincy was thinking there K-State's got 52 seconds and a timeout now instead of like less than 30 and no timeout

Mount Union has never NOT been ranked in the D3football.com top 25. They fell to 24 this week, and were only 9 poll points from falling out of the poll.

First loss to Heidelberg *at home* since 1972. Gonna be wild if they lose another game, because they haven't missed the D3 playoffs since 1991, when they went 8-1-1 and still missed out.

I'm surprised nobody has pinged me about this, but Mount Union is now 1-2. The last time Mount Union lost 2 regular season games was 1989. The first loss was a non-con loss to Wheaton, which wasn't a huge shock. But they lost Saturday to Heidelberg. They haven't lost to Heidelberg since 1988.

Career highs in both catches and yards for Jaron Tibbs, who finally returned to being WR1. Linkon Cure finally got substantive action. And Avery Johnson set a career high in rushing yards. Jon's recap, thoughts, and players of the game:

Yup. And the worst part is there's not going to be any real action taken. ESPN's not going to consign Texas to an 11am SECN slot as punishment.

This is a mid FCS team, so you can't really take much away from the performance, but except for a lost fumble (which was sandwiched between the defense forcing 3-and-outs on either side), the Cats' execution has been pristine.
