QOTD: What's the perfect 4-car garage from one manufacturer the year you graduated high school? Actually a whopping 3 models when I did So 993 convertible for summer 993 GT2 for my funeral 928 GTS for long distance 968 Club Sport for daily duties

Maybe it’s a sign of older age, but is it unreasonable to expect a product talking about electrical safety, that you should feel like the guy doing the instructions actually saw the product… The layout at least looks right on the plug, but the earth should be shorter not equal length to the live
Socket diagram showing cables taking equal paths into the socket, when in reality the cables take much longer paths. The cutting guide suggests earth cable should be the same length as the live when in reality it’s half the length
Photo of back of socket which at least has the correct cable path, but repeats the error of the neutral cable being the shortest instead of joint longest cable

Argued this for a long time. I've fitted a double DIN with car play because trying to navigate a 1000 songs on USB etc on a 3 line alpine unit was, well night on impossible. Double screen gives you all the entertainment setup when parked. Rest on analogue. I've added an Ultraguage for temps

Yeah I've replaced the iMac with this MBP now. I just hook it up to a 32" 4k as my primary workstation with keyboard & mouse. I've taken to wrapping bright electrical tape around key wires/adapters I'm likely to forget as it makes them stand out more when at customers.

I know, I mean mine lives with a USB-C hub in constantly, the SSD going through it. I don't need it most days, but, I don't want to have to unplug the SSD to plug in the hub when I want it. Top port is the monitor/power. As I say longer term 14" will give me a third port instead

Yeah SSDs have become a "this price is valid for 30 seconds item..." Also rather hoping nothing happens to my T7 4TB... They were £250 for a long time, now they're over £700
Screenshot of the price tracker for the Samsung t7 SSD 4TB. For a long time they held around £250 +/- £10 but spiked February this year and now the prices are over £700

The anodised MacBooks are great and all that, but if you put stickers on them sometimes the sticker fades areas of the anodisation Fitting a replacement screen and removing the plethora of stickers the previous owner stuck on, of all the ones to fade the anodisation….

I run exactly the same guage in the E88, no not even a close match on display wise, but the Ultraguage is £100 and some nifty BMW look vent gauges are nearer £500, so I’ll live with it Update speeds prompt in BM so speed might be Suzuki. I run a single page of temp/speed and changed a few alarms
Photo of an Ultraguage mounted in a BMW which for some stupid reason doesn’t have a temp gauge. So this does this and a whole lot more

I mean even Porsche doesn't give you a huge option more. Eleven shades of grey, two almost identical reds, two fairly similar blues, a yellow, but at least that Oak Green is bloody glorious. Only have you even seen one specced it in?!

I got round this by owning both. If you just want to cruise about steadily the Audi is superior. I think it looks better, it's the more solidly built, great to sit in, just feels "so". But in v6 form it was nose heavy. The BMW was nowhere near as well built, but far far superior to 'drive'

I get it every time "buy a Toyota lad", we have to go back to 2017 to even find an advisory on the mot history (though this in part why we (well I did) chose this one). He loves his Verso-S (and the Corolla Verso before that...) Of course I have different ideas of a Toyota... #mmmmV8

I always liked the hazard placement in the E36, could brake/gear down & flick the hazards on with your thumb for those 'moments' on the motorway. E88 puts it top & centre on the dash, which is clearer to see, but much further away from where your hands are...

Oh yes. Back in 2021 I deciding having made no carpentry besides a little fence made from 2 pallets, I was bored of waiting for the shed builder to get to my slot, sod it I’m going to buy £1000 worth of wood and just do it myself, and impressed actually pulled it off, and better than shop bought
