QOTD: What's the perfect 4-car garage from one manufacturer the year you graduated high school? Actually a whopping 3 models when I did So 993 convertible for summer 993 GT2 for my funeral 928 GTS for long distance 968 Club Sport for daily duties

Maybe it’s a sign of older age, but is it unreasonable to expect a product talking about electrical safety, that you should feel like the guy doing the instructions actually saw the product… The layout at least looks right on the plug, but the earth should be shorter not equal length to the live
Socket diagram showing cables taking equal paths into the socket, when in reality the cables take much longer paths. The cutting guide suggests earth cable should be the same length as the live when in reality it’s half the length
Photo of back of socket which at least has the correct cable path, but repeats the error of the neutral cable being the shortest instead of joint longest cable

The saga continues, got my money, but the final bill is so ****ed up, someones managed to transpose day/night figures on the meter for the last bill and they've applied it retrospectively all the way back to when we started with them. Years of billing. Will be here months figuring this bugger out

100 miles driving a relatives 4th gen CRV today. I mean it’s done the job of shifting some stuff about, but a useful reference point sometimes to remind yourself what an utter rocket the 125 is. The CRV wasn’t troubling anything, and we didn’t even have the slower eco button or AC buttons pressed

One of those drives over the peaks yesterday. Late, quiet, van making progress still slowed and indicated to let me pass, caught up with a few cars, wasn't worth the overtake, till it turned out slow S-max in the middle is on an utter mission guy, which now made the overtake possible. Good drive!

Today was one of those days where you drive for an hour for a day out / lunch at an NT property only to find having paid to park they’ve no water and everything’s shutting. So you drive an hour to try somewhere else and by now it’s mad busy. Net result 2.5hrs 100 miles lunch 10mins/10miles from home

This is why even over a decade ago I switched to clipping websites into Evernote, and then because Evernote went shitty clipping to DevonThink A) they’re searchable, so much easier to find content B) they’re saved, and websites just keep disappearing

So much this. I don’t want an app for every blooming web page. It’s called a browser. I don’t even want an app for every reward card they’re all in AnycodeWallet. The meerkat site annoyed this year because I had to install an app to claim a voucher which previously you just did via the website

After the last batch of heat, read all the reviews, bought one of those new smart circulating fans. Yes it’s clever, yes it’s quieter till it’s on max speeds. But, whilst its one of the better ones for airflow at 938m3/hr, the basic Philips 2000 we bought last year does 2562m3/hr and it bloody shows

Fab run out to the coast today before the bank holiday rush. On the way back went along a freshly chipped road, several miles later, middle of nowhere stopped at a junction and it turns out a stone drops into the brake guard. This could have been an utter ****er as the car doesn’t have a jack etc

Post something from your camera roll that comes up when you search yellow car. And following up from earlier discussions of some quarters being dismissive of older cameras. Shot on the Canon D30 (yes D first) with its whopping 3mp, 3 focus points & 11 shot buffer (in jpeg)
Photo of a rally spec Subaru Impreza car on a dusty tarmac rally stage, plumes of dust that its kicked up give the left of the shot a hazy feel

Oh and it cuts right through this, as the car is bright yellow

It’s morbid stuff, but a bunch of these things you don’t legally have access too if a partner dies without previously granting access. There’s also an emergency file in case one of us is struck down tomorrow the other is aware of what utilities/contracts etc we need to manage.

Passing the local funfair at the weekend, you could hear they will still regularly banging out songs from the 70s and 80s, which is rather shocking when you think about it. It would have been like them playing Glen Miller after shouting “scream if you want to go faster” when we went in the 80s…
