Graham Greene helped make the rest of the world see Indigenous people as real human beings. The first time I saw him on screen was in Dances With Wolves and the last time was in The Last of Us. What a tremendous legacy! RIP ✊🏽🙌🏽❤️

I’ve had an ongoing conversation with @paulandstorm.bsky.social (among others) about how hard it is to write a song that has to be a hit “in-universe.” That is, it has to be so good the characters/listeners react in the way the story needs them to. K-pop Demon Hunters does it 8 times.

R.I.P Nelvana Ltd, a genuinely tremendous force in the animation industry, for both Canada and even the US, ESPECIALLY on the television animation side of things. Shouting out 1996’s Stickin’ Around as an example of their work, had to have been a nightmare to make this style work this well.

I love the idea of a Wonder Woman cartoon that kind of functions like Brave and the Bold, using less popular/underutilized female superheroes. Ideally I'd want to find a way to even have her team up with Fantomah, Sheena Queen of the Jungle, or Nelvana of the Northern Lights.

If you ever watched a cartoon as a kid there's a chance they were involved, including the Donkey Kong Country and Sam & Max cartoon adaptations

The slow and painful death began when a number of positions at Nelvana were eliminated in July 2024, including that of the Vice President, and all the development of upcoming projects was paused. The year prior, Corus sold Toon Boom Animation to a group everyone hates - TPG, a PRIVATE EQUITY.

Yeah, those deepfake ads are really horrible. There’s a whole Orville episode about deepfakes. Some people have complained about things that have been said by the deepfake that have not actually been done by the real Mark Carney. He’s not gonna lower the speed limits across Canada.

Xavier @jonaius.bsky.social · 02/09/2025

Still, anything related to AI is horrible and should be avoided or cancelled.

000

Xavier @jonaius.bsky.social · 02/09/2025

To make the matters even worse, he retweeted an image that was VERY OBVIOUSLY AI-generated. I prefer animation that’s entirely human-made. And on top of that, the person who’s supposed to be in charge of this thing probably knows nothing about AI. He was tricked by one AI photo of Carney.

And, if my calculations are correct, CTV has…unfortunately, at this moment, zero children’s programming. It’s really sad as they used to actually have some, like 5-4-3-2 RUN (which was a cool game show that they had, created by the same guy that did Talk About!) Anne of Green Gables, too!!

Oh my gosh, I’m beginning to think this may have been a bad decision. TCU lead 41-14 at the end of the third quarter. The Tar Heels pretty much have no chance of winning this game because this is the one team that made it to the National Championship and lost to the Georgia Bulldogs (AGAIN)
