Hey, I tried! Take 2 pulled out, but I finished the remaster on my own time and released it as a mod/update to the game(s). youtu.be/XiiBj4CJ2MI?...

My favorite games on the Switch were mostly ports of other games Super Mario RPG, Paper Mario Thousand Year Door, Another Code, some of the Zelda ports. That and third party games. Which is what I'll likely use my Switch 2 for, mostly.

On switch 1, my collection is/has been: Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8, Smash Ultimate, Snipperclips, Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2, Arms, Pokken, Hyrule Warriors, and a handful more. Most of these did not connect with me at all.

So, here I am a PlayStation fan who's moved to Nintendo Switch, but doesn't like Nintendo's modern first party games. What a world. At least PixelJunk Monsters 3 is coming out, so this can't be the worst timeline. Now, about that PixelJunk Monster 1 Ultimate port....

As my alternatives are Xbox, who's also moving away from ownership, and seem like an incredibly risky place jump in at this point, and PC... Which i don't have the money to jump into at this point, and despite playing computer games for decades, has never really felt like "home" for gaming for me...

With PlayStation moving away from ownership, I've been slowly making moves to remove myself from the longterm PlayStation ecosystem. Once 2028 hits, I will no longer purchase anything on PlayStation. So in this insane timeline, I am sort of testing the waters with the Switch 2 as my new daily driver

Jon God @jon-god.bsky.social · 15/09/2026
What a bizarre timeline. As a fairly console agnostic gamer, I'd moved to being primarily PlayStation gamer, as both Xbox and Nintendo stopped making games that appealed to me. I still had an Xbox One and Switch, but probably together had less than 10% of my game play time...

Kindly, screw your digital future. If you don't treat customers with respect and relegate the art even your own studios make to a throwaway rental, your fans have no reason to respect you anymore. Let alone pay money for any service you try to push. Meet demand or get left behind.

Fixed it. Nintendo been removing entire storefronts and reselling games that were on them for too long to get a pass.

As mass layoffs continue in the game industry, developers must reckon with how to handle the uncertainty and pain of the moment.

Any code written by an AI could be written by a human. AI might make tedious work much more palatable, but it cannot do things that are impossible.

I was joking, as generative AI is built on stealing other people's work.

Likely they have the option to go independent... but who would buy them? All the publishers have closed their pocket books to weather the storm. They'd really need to hope that they could find funding or contract work, or they'd just have to close their doors anyways.

I no longer have any desire to "get into it" with a dev (large team, small team, individual) or a PR person doing outreach for a game about the use of A.I. I check the game out, see a disclosure and I'm out. I am trying HARD to refrain from "smell testing" games without disclosures. That's tough.

if i see anything under the aye-eye section on a steam game it's an immediate skip, no matter how cool it looks. just hire artists!!! i'd rather see the the worst human made developer art instead of gen ai slop. i beg. it doesn't have to be "inevitable" that's just speak for lazy/cheap
screencap from a steam page for a game that is using gen ai

Being a gamer doesn't mean you're a good manager. Some of the worst managers in the industry have a long history with games, playing games, and making games. That all being said, she is likely doing exactly what she was hired to do, gut the entire division.

If you don't believe there is an AI bubble, we will never reach common ground.

Unless you are running them locally, they have a cost that is currently being eaten by other companies. If the AI bubble pops, those costs will no longer be eaten. gen AI = Generative AI, like Midjourney

I guess it depends on the level of LLMs we are talking about. GenAI is less likely to stay free.

...video games existed for 40+ years without genAI and for the indie gamemakers using it as an excuse, indie games existed for a good chunk of that. And yes, that includes concept art and coding and everything. It's not necessary, it makes things worse, and it's not even faster - it's one big grift.

No, AI is not "inevitable". No, not "everyone" uses it. These are the sort of lies they are desperate to spread, that they *need* spread. So, it's disappointing (but not too surprising) to see one of the big Fortnite dataminers/leakers spout these lies like a puppet in defense of Epic and Fortnite.

Have about 8 comments about Asha exclusive comments. She stepped on a rake. They have a small window here she has to understand gamers watch her like a hawk. Please only let @ballmatthew talk. Put Asha in training. I get annoyed when I field the calls for their mix ups to be honest. I do it for the community and the love of it all but they have to understand these things.

The great irony here is that miHoYo is one of the most litigious gaming companies on the planet right now, having filed hundreds of legal cases (some precedent setting) against companies and individuals that have infringed on its IP or even leaked game assets.

Last year, miHoYo copied my puzzle game Ouros in Zenless Zone Zero. Because they are a recognized, billion-dollar studio and my game isn't well known, some people are now assuming that their version is the original, and mine is the clone. I hope this video clears that up.

From the #Marchintosh show in Green Bay today, the fantastic Mr. Moran was able to fix whatever was wrong with the hard drive on this early 90's Macintosh Performa 410 (an even cheaper variant of the Mac LC-2) and got it working! Dark Castle rocks!
A Macintosh Performa 410 (a cost reduced variant of the LC-2) computer sits on a desk at a WCC show. The computer itself is a "pizza box" format, a thin flat slab of deeply yellowed plastic with a single floppy disk drive port on the front. It's playing the game "Dark Castle" on a mismatched LCD screen.
