I doubt most of these accounts are real but on the off chance that they are I’m thinking maybe I stop blocking them & reply with, “it costs $10/min to talk to me” & then see what happens.
Tina Fey as Liz Lemon imagining herself as “the world’s worst prostitute,” wearing a purple bob wig but otherwise her normal modest plain clothing, leaning into a car window asking a man, “You wanna party? It’s 500 for kissing, 10,000 for snuggling. End of list.”

Oh yeah I forgot about the other reason I took my face off my public accounts 🤦🏻‍♀️ existing in a woman’s body is exhausting no wonder we have a higher rate of autoimmune disease, just being a woman is a chronic stress condition in this world.

Learning to draw Kawaii characters alongside my son & having a blast! By the end I was struggling a lot bc sitting up, holding my hand steady, listening, looking, & focussing for 30 min is a LOT for me rn but I used to be an avid drawer especially of cartoons so it’s bringing me joy

Then we set up a stuffy audience & had an extra long reading time before bed, complete w weighted blanket, & that all seemed to help. No nightmares, just discomfort from the weather (wildfire smoke & thunderstorms). Trying to co-regulate but I’m kinda stressed rn too so it’s tricky.
An audience of stuffies lined up on top of a body pillow with Percy Jackson & The Olympians Book 2 & weighted blanket sitting in front of them. Stuffies from left to right: pineapple Squishmallow, rainbow Squishmallow (both purchased pre-2023), shaggy cow, goat, & wild thing (from Where The Wild Things Are live theatrical adaptation by Young People’s Theatre, Toronto)

I know we’re not perfect but every time someone says something like this my brain goes:
Still from The Simpsons of Grandpa Simpson angrily pointing at his granddaughter Lisa while yelling at her parents for not spanking their kids, saying “and that’s why your no-good kids are running wild,” despite the fact that Lisa is just sitting contentedly & quietly in a beanbag chair reading a book.

I’ve been working on this one so long that I can’t remember when I started, but I finished it just in time for my Nonna’s 1yr memorial bc I wanted to pay tribute to one of the many gifts she passed down to us 🧶🪡🥰 www.yarnspirations.com/en-ca/produc...
Selfie taken from above depicting me standing outside while wearing an oversized crochet cardigan made using three different colourways of variegated yarn as per the Yarnspirations pattern, “Vivid Stripes Crochet Cardigan,” so that there is a chaotic rainbow stripe effect accented with random rows of black and navy. Impression of a moss or seed stitch. Selfied taken straight on of me sitting inside wearing the same cardigan described in previous photo. Only half of the cardigan is visible and the oversized sleeve is shown in the foreground.

ICYMI, here is the shawl, made after the cardis for nephew & son, using pattern designed by TL Yarn Crafts: tlycblog.com/montego-shaw... bsky.app/profile/sire...
Same shawl as described in my original post, linked above, modelled here in a different drape. The larger part of the triangle shawl is draped across one shoulder, with the narrower ends wrapped across & draped down the other shoulder, giving an asymmetrical effect.Same shawl as described in my original post, linked above, modelled here in a reverse drape. The larger part of the triangle shawl is draped across the back, which is not visible in this image. The narrower ends are draped across the shoulders & down the front of the body.

Once again turning to crochet to ease the pain. Here’s the sweater I made for my son in the same yarn used for my shawl. It started w a newborn set for my nephew back in November. My son asked for a matching cardi & picked this one by MJ’s Off the Hook: www.mjsoffthehookdesigns.com/childrens-cr...
7yr old modelling the back of crochet cardigan linked above, made with Lion Brand Big Scoop baby yarn in Blueberry, which is a variegated yarn that fades from white to various shades of baby blue, giving a self-striping effect to the body of the cardigan & an ombré effect to the perpendicular ribbing at the neck, wrists, and waist. Model standing w arms extended to show full back of cardigan body & arms, with a clear view of the shoulder construction. See pattern link in post for description of stitches.Same model showing front of crochet cardigan described in previous image. Model standing w arms raised in victory pose, face covered with emoji of a silly face with googly eyes & tongue sticking out.

Selfie taken from above capturing a crochet triangle shawl worn with the centre draped across the front of my body. The yarn is variegated shades of blue & white, but the most prominent colour is baby blue, and it gives a loose self-striping effect to the piece. Internet, meet Baseball Dog. My 7yr old gave him to me for the day bc I am feeling extremely unwell after not sleeping & then accidentally agreeing to get up an hour “early” thanks to daylight savings time. Perhaps you also need Baseball Dog today, so I am sharing him with you.
This is a photo of Baseball Dog, which is the name my 7 year old gave to this round stuffy (in the style of a squishmallow, but he is not one) that is fashioned like a white dog with brown feet, ears, and spots over its eyes. He is holding a plushy baseball with his stubby little white hands. He is smiling because he has a big plushy baseball & because his mission in life is to bring you joy & happiness. His ears are velvety soft just like a real dog. He is an absolute sensory delight & my son is a genius.

Iranian American here. With family and friends in Iran.
The loudest voices online aren't all of our voices.
We all agree this brutal regime has caused immense harm and absolutely must go.
But we don't all agree on how that looks and how change should happen. We need to listen to all the voices. My heart is with all the Iranian people and especially those who have to live through this.
You can feel hopeful and excited... AND worried at the same time.
Both things can be true.

Post a picture you took, no context, to bring some zen to the feed
Photo of the bank of a small lake during the fall. In the foreground are mostly bare trees with some that still have red leaves and a couple of evergreens. There is still green and red plant life on the ground alongside a small path that lead closer to the water’s edge. The opposite bank is visible on the horizon & trees with green, yellow, and orange leaves are vaguely visible. The water on the lake is calm and blue-grey in colour. The sky is visible between tree branches, & it is bright blue with big wispy white clouds.

Here’s a new one: record snowfall accumulation + partial thaw this weekend has resulted in salt interfering with electrical infrastructure as per @alectranews.bsky.social This is our first thaw after months of back to back snowstorms & before two more set to hit this week #ONstorm
Post by account AlectraNews on X: “Warmer weather & salt buildup has led to insulator tracking on assets close to roadways/highways. We've had insulator-washing crews working throughout the weekend to help mitigate outages; however some of you have been experiencing intermittent outages as a result.”

The Lost New York had everything…
Still of Stefon from SNL, played by Bill Hader. Stefon was a Weekend Update character who was like a lifestyle or night life reporter for NYC. He would say a new club “has everything,” & then proceed to list increasingly absurd non-sequiturs describing said club. These were written on cue cards that Hader had not seen at final rehearsal & the writers over had the goal of making Hader “break character” by laughing when trying to deliver his lines.

I think the dark pink ones are daisies.

Wat lol
My reply in a larger thread: It's true though. This was my 6yr old's first time taking an interest in watching sports & now he's like what's next? We said hockey & basketball. He asked if it's like watching baseball & we laughed like no not at all.
This was a special type of trauma bonding we just experienced

Reply to my reply:
Baseball is the thinking man's game! If it's boring you, you don't understand the game. However, bashing ALL who watch and/or play the game makes you look childish! Generalizations are frequently erroneous and usually uneducated.
