It’s very simple and it’s been said over and over but I guess it needs saying continuously: if you deem one group too small to have equal rights you are enabling fascism, not fighting it. The people saying Dems are GREAT on trans rights are not paying attention and/or saying stuff like this.

The people getting angry would spend this hypothetical lunch being told how they're wrong to exist in the way they do. The people getting angry know this is the case because the other side of the table post, write, podcast and preach their opinions for everyone to hear. Nothing to learn there.

I have a vivid memory of a friend getting dumped in high school, and we went into the woods with a couple bats to yell at/demolish a snow fence surrounding an encroaching subdivision. If yelling and smashing thinhs in the woods ain't free, I don't want to know about it.

So, question from an outsider: Why isn't the advice to Democrat candidates to just not say anything? From my perspective, coming out as transphobic is an attempt to buy GOP voters. Do they think they will gain more votes from these statements than they will by not engaging in harmful rhetoric?
