you'd think, since amazon can send anything to anyone, anywhere, there wouldn't be a reason to exclude the other country country listed specifically in their giveaway T&C
Eligibility. Open to individual legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia and Canada who have a Goodreads and an Amazon.com or Amazon.ca account and are the legal age of majority

I'm in one of those weird spots in Toronto where I can't tell if this an unsigned public space (gated, no locks), private property, or something in between. Drinking a coffee, reading my book, and wondering if I'm going to be run out of here at any moment. Really nice place for it.

'Flock' is a term I've only encountered in wallcoverings before. Synonymous for "you didn't price this job high enough". Nice to know my dusty used book stores dives bear fruit once in a while.

@torbooks.bsky.social Don't know why you guys thought it was ideal to limit a Canadian author's giveaway to people outside Canada, but there are a lot of people on here bummed out we can't enter/support.
screengrab from goodreads. body reads:

"Enter for a chance to win Wickhills.

This book giveaway is open to members in the following countries: U.S..

Entry period begins on Aug 10, 2026 and ends on Aug 17, 2026

The author or publisher listing the giveaway is the sponsor, and if you win, they will receive your shipping address and they are responsible for shipping you the book. Goodreads is not a sponsor of the giveaway."

Error code reads: "1 error prohibited this giveaway request from being saved:

One of my all time faves you can't get often is 'con patate'. Pizza bianco with razor thin potatoes, rosemary, and sometime thin sliced sweet onion. So good.

One of Clive Cussler's earlier books had the Triangle as a wacky plot element. The world lost a great potential franchise when Sahara flopped. Although the books would have had to been scrubbed very, very deep for homophobia, misogyny, and racism 😬

Made a niche meme as a memorial for this lovely place, soon to be swarmed by bylaw enforcement RIP
Four panel Independent Thought alarm meme, edited for Toronto residents.

First panel, Lisa Simpson at desk, text reads "I just wanted you to know I had fun on city property"

Second panel, Ms. Hoover at her desk, head replaced by toronto flag in the shape of city of toronto boundaries. Text reads "Thank you for telling me"

Third panel, same edited version of Ms Hoover, reaching surreptitiously under her desk.

Fourth panel, image of a hand pressing a red button labeled "Someone Enjoying Themselves Alarm"

Editor's note: I wish I could make the button seem worn out from overuse, which would be appropriate for my city.

The Mcsweeney's Volume gave me a big smile when I saw it on the shelf. I had it in my cart when it first came out, but the shipping + conversion to $CDN made it pretty pricey. I don't know who dropped it off, but it's already in the lead for Find of the Year.

There's been a lost of posts in book related subreddits, with both good and terrible discussion, but TrueLit had the biggest "this is beneath me" take. Add to that the shouting down of someone commenting from the pov of a person in the bdsm community and you easily form an image of the commenters.
