Watching David Beckham’s Boss ad and am concerned he’s going to have a flat battery. Why is he eating cereal? Why is he wearing undies in the shower? Why doesn’t he have curtains? I have watched the advert several times and I am still no clearer. I shall keep watching hoping for a breakthrough.

For the past month or so I’ve picked up a pack of pigs-in-blankets with every shop in case of a Christmas shortage. I now have 60 (piggies, not packs). But something compels me to buy more. Do I have - a) a problem or b) a heathy respect for seasonal food

The boys love it but the only time I tried to watch one, I dozed off 😬 (and they won’t let me forget it ) My attention span prefers a sub two hour film, but I’m committed- and I do like the idea of sloth and brown food!

Of course! Will the poor child get his Christmas wish? It reminds me of an Arnold Schwarzenegger film where he tries to get a sold out toy for his son on Christmas Eve and ends up stealing it from a neighbour. Do you know the one I mean?

I’m writing a Christmas novel I accidentally started on the train when I was visiting my sick mum (this is very much NOT on my to do list). Gimme your favourite Christmas book/ film tropes. I’m avoiding rich writers who buy castles in Scotland but anything else is fair game.

Staying at my mum’s this week and last night my room was full of flies - 20 -30 of the things. I immediately started looking for the dead body (as you do) but it turns out they were hibernating in the window frame. Who knew?
