Meanwhile, we asked the university for modest raises to begin addressing decades of stagnant wages and salary compression and we were told to shut up and get back to work.

Every history survey I teach begins with two weeks of information literacy training. In feedback at the end of the quarter, students frequently tell me that learning how to identify credible sources online was the most valuable lesson they learned in my class.

I wrote something new for History Respawned today. It's a review of a new book about Red Dead, but it's really about academic writing and historical game studies as a field. Please read, but also know, I really really really really REALLY didn't want to write this review.

A Louisiana Tech student is a counselor at Camp Mystic and helped save campers.
This is Emma Foltz. She is a hero.
Emma is a rising senior at Louisiana Tech and camp counselor at Camp Mystic.
When the water came rushing in, she helped save the lives of 14 girls.
"She played an instrumental role in helping evacuate 14 of her campers to safety. Please join me in thanking Emma for all her hard work and bravery under immense pressure," said Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry.

The talking point that little girls have to settle for fewer dolls to soften the collapse of the consumer economy is genius. Women be shopping, and this whole thing smacks of gender.

Tech bros know what every parent wants: children who sleep less
jacob sansbury
@jsnnsa
having kids in the next 5 years might be a tragic mistake

every smart bio founder/scientist i’ve talked to seems to think embryo editing for things like short sleeper, reduced cancer risk, etc is possible on a near term horizon

imagine having two kids a couple years apart, one is a super human and the other isn’t

“sorry jim, little timmy won’t get cancer, only needs 4 hours of sleep and you’re normal you were just born in the wrong order 🤷🏻 “
