Did you know 8 of the top 10 recycling councils in England are Lib Dem led? Mid Suffolk, a Green majority council, ranks 162nd, and Brighton was among the worst in the country when they ran it. @ollygrender.bsky.social put the figures to the government in the Lords in April.

Making expensive but highly experienced and knowledgeable staff redundant is at the root of the ills of the privatised utilities. It boosts profits but corrodes infrastructure integrity. The ‘old boys’ who knew work-arounds in their heads have gone. Now inexperienced graduates are guessing using AI

AI can and will do those industry jobs that have already been de-skilled and robotised - eg McQuarry effect at Thames Water. Beginning to think that AI is not the primary problem but (wrongly used sociotechnically) is a crap solution to the existing problem from which we have been distracted.

I would qualify as 'English' by any far right criteria. No 'foreign' blood (ie outside of an area with a 30 mile radius) for hundreds of years in my tree. Anglo-Saxon male DNA. So ergo, I am an inbred. Luckily my children and grandchildren are 'cross-breds' and for that I am proud and thankful.
