A lot of Orbán's American fans are saying that this election proved he was never an authoritarian in the first place. This is completely wrong — and, in fact, betrays a complete misunderstanding of both Hungarian politics and modern authoritarianism. Here's why.

first in my bloodline to see someone get excommunicated by a community note
"Magataotao" on Twitter writes: "I am Catholic. This👇is not my Pope."

Attached is a video of the Pope saying that we should search for peace and reject war.

A community note under their tweet says: "You are not a Catholic if you do not accept the Pope, but rather a schismatic.

Canon 751: “Schism is the refusal of submission to the Supreme Pontiff,” ie. the Pope.

Air pollution fell substantially as the city restricted car traffic and made way for parks and bike lanes.

A new working paper from DG REGIO analyses the macroeconomic impact of the 2014-2020 European cohesion policy programmes based on simulations carried out with a spatial dynamic general equilibrium model. We use the latest data on actual expenditures including the EUR 50 billion falling under the recovery assistance for cohesion and the territories of Europe (REACT-EU). We quantify the direct and indirect potential effects of the policy on the NUTS 2 regions of the European Union within a 20-year time frame. The results suggest that the impact of the policy is sizeable, especially in the less developed regions.
