I don't know who they are or how they operate but the Indie Movie Rights for Free channel has an untapped mine of incredible material.

This makes a lot of sense given the bloated timelines and budgets of modern corporate games. Relative to one of those releases, a sub $100 million film is a fast and easy investment. A small but manageable budget that means the project might just be good. (Silent Hill not withstanding.)

I would have pegged (sorry) Hellraiser as a setting uniquely unsuited to videogames, but this one has the look of something special.

This is not an argument for flooding the airwaves with infinitely more sloppily produced mid derivative AI homonculi. And honestly I do find great stuff all the time from odd corners. Sure there's a lot of bad material, but AI will amplify adequacy while making greatness harder to find in the noise.

I think one of the undercurrents of our fractured political reality is that basically everyone has come to realize that the people who rule the world do not possess any particularly impressive level of intelligence or capability

Let's go over how video games used to both look and play better when they actually had less realistic graphics.

My hot take is that fandoms have always been a majority of nice people with a subset of absolutely rancid, judgemental arseholes that never got bigger, just louder, but because platforms learned that arguments drive engagement and therefore you see more ads, they tailored algorithms towards that

Yes but that is what I assume is always a part of any gambling apparatus, because it is. It's good to highlight the exact form it takes, and why they're deliberately so addictive, but extracting wealth by these mechanisms is always explicitly the point.

Generally true. The good thing about trying random indie films on YouTube is you can usually tell the worthless ones within a few minutes, but FAR more often than expected you uncover gems.

Some people get into political activism not because they want to change their material circumstances for the better, but because they enjoy righteously condemning everyone who is not as morally pure and radical as they are. You cannot work with these people because they will never be satisfied.

I definitely have encountered people who want the law to follow mathematic axioms that they just can't, because people and language don't work that way. In either case, the process of reaching the answer is too important and human for AI to do anything but make it worse.

It doesn't have the logical precision, but it does have tons of similar reasoning and applicable skills. Mostly I'm just tired of the old "lawyers are bad at math" meme. I do math constantly, both hard arithmetic/statistics and general logical inquisition.

Jack Farrell @johnofhearts.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
This is happening in law as well, which is much closer to math than people will easily admit. The way you get to an argument or conclusion WILL be pushed in court. That's the entire point of the argument. If you don't understand important pieces of it, you haven't done the work.

Another sad case of liberal white people only being accepting of others in theory. Mexico and Palestine are real easy to support from NYC/Philly, but don't dare ask them to give up parking for bike lanes or affordable housing.

I see a lot of trans activists with an absolute approach to trans rights that's totally understandable, sympathetic, even reasonable, but also consistently hostile to building a political coalition. It actively pushes allies away because they don't agree in the specific way they are told to agree.

The nice element of this is that if one accuses you of having this title because the topics are so niche, it just means you do a good job finding topics with insufficient discussion.

At the same time, he taught himself to animate and use his hands again, in a movie ABOUT gaining strength. The result is a surprisingly thoughtful piece on masculinity www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjNh...

The original game was stylized and readable. No one said it looked bad. It's still a timeless classic. The remake has so much detail that it doesn't look like anything. Just a miasma of particle effects and flourishes that distract from important information.

Chinese propaganda, tech-haters, and leftists are why there's a PR image problem for an industry that 1) says they might kill us all 2) promises to ruin every job in every industry 3) has, for four years, grossly misrepresented the capabilities and limitations of the actual products on the market.

It's artistically unforgivable that someone can be given such a blank check on such a wild premise and deliver films so aggressively bland and uninspired. It's almost an achievement to create something so uninteresting with those resources. If I tried I couldn't suck that hard.
