Went to Hythe Venetian Fete, which has been running since 1891. One of those events that you've probably heard of but haven't got round to going to (you should) More #photos: flic.kr/s/aHBqjD2LNT

Went on a tour of the attic at Knole House in Kent. It's a bit bigger than my attic. More #photos here: flic.kr/s/aHBqjCwFxt #History
An attic space with ornate plaster ceiling. The floor is thought to be wonky because originally there was a bell tower above it, which deformed the building. An attic space with furniture along the right hand wall. There is a small set of steps on the left which give access to the roof.Graffiti which reads "New trap xmas 1950" (as in a new trap door to the roof), and "Snow fell Feb 69".Some ritual protection marks on the floor joists. They were supposed to trap bad spirits.

Finished my #KitOff4Victory build ready for We Have Ways Fest. My first attempt at a diorama rather than just a vehicle on its own. It's based on photos I found on the IWM website of Cromwells in Hamburg in May 1945 (www.iwm.org.uk/collections/...)

A deer at Knole Park, Sevenoaks, Kent #photography
A deer in Knole Park. The deer has antlers, and a grey coat. The deer at Knole are wild, but there's a stately home in the park, so they're quite used to people being around. This photo was taken with a 600mm lens, so I kept my distance from them.

There's a memorial in my local cemetery in memory of two victims of the holocaust, Fritz Moritz and Rosa Wertheimer, but also in remembrance of all victims of persecution. The memorial was erected by their daughter, who I think escaped thanks to the kindertransport.
A black stone memorial, with text in Hebrew and English. It reads:
In remembrance of all victims of persecution.
In memory of Fritz Moritz Wertheimer (1884-? Auschwitz)
Rosa Wertheimer (1890-? Treblinka)
Their lives were cruelly cut short.
May their souls rest in peace.
This memorial was erected by their loving daughter Inge in 1997.
