While I think I'm on the recovery end of my sickness and throat issue I'm going to rest my voice for a bit so I probably won't stream at least until Sunday (Champions of Norrath co-op or something else) Still figuring out the next PS2 playthrough I can do quick before October with my blister finger

Johnny got sick again, I swear it's an annual thing now, not sure what's going on I've legit been sleeping most of the weekend, but I'll try and update when I'm feeling a little better

I thought a review for my recent playthrough and ranking of Ridge Racer V for PlayStation 2. Maybe a hot take but for someone who really likes Ridge Racer, even judging this as a launch title, stretching the bare thread content really hurt this in the long run backloggd.com/u/JohnnyBagh...

Having looked into it more I'm really glad I'm re-evaulating Dead or Alive 2's PS2 version. Turns out the version differences are quite different than I thought. My assumption the PS2 version was just the dreamcast with fuzzier output is wrong there's quite a lot of differences

If you'd like to see the fruits of my "efforts", today at 5pm UK Time to see if Ridge Racer V's bonus content was worth driving 1500 miles for. PS2 Tier List Ranking, and maybe even spending some time with the ladies of Dead or Alive 2? Tune in to find out!

Great reporting here, but I have to comment on the misreading of the story. Reportedly Death Stranding 1/2 didn't meet "PlayStation's revenue Expectations". Literacy has gotten so bad that people are reading this as poor sales. It is not and assuming not meeting sales expectations = bad is pro-corpo

After doing some Ridge Racer V offstream grinding and I have some thoughts * Getting to 1500 miles driven to unlock the bonus GP is going to take ages, multiple playthroughs of all GPs * Handling models vary widely between cars, to the point some just kinda suck?

Been continuing American Mcgee's Alice in my time off sick and while I have enjoyed a lot of the experience, honestly that game kind of sucks to play. It really feels like a Quake III mod trying to force Quake III to do things it's not designed to do via hacks.

Turns out Johnny has got that annual sickness stuff again, so I don't know what's happening with streams. Don't worry it's milder this time than before, not having the major hot/cold spells so that's a good sign, but it was bad at the start, toilet stuff I ain't sharing lol

I don't mean to be a bummer sometimes with my viddy game takes (granted, hard not to be with the state of things) but I feel like it's ultimately better to get my thoughts out on my opinions I feel are seemingly in the minority. At the very least I hope can understand my POV if they disagree

120

Johnny Baghead @johnnybaghead.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

It's funny because while I wouldn't argue they're bad, these 3 "remakes" is where the remake trend underwelmed me to the point of being sick of them. 3 of the best games ever made, remade as okay at best contemporary tropes reinterpretations. These were the "what are we doing folks?" moment for me

Replayed Time Crisis 3 today, that main campaign is still amazing, I still might prefer it over TC2. As a kid I was a TC Handgun only purist but the multiple gun types in TC3 really add to the player expression and you could still in theory beat the game with one weapon set to infinite ammo

It's a janky game, but honestly Sopranos: Road To Respect is so much fun if you're a fan of the show, most the cast reprising their roles, really authentic writing (from the cookbook author of all people) and some of the goofiest beat em up sections, 5 stars!

Not naming names but I was curious at some bluesky trending posts about a political commentator on the left and probably not shocking but it's a lot of someone making very obvious jokes, memes and just, I'm giving the benefit of the doubt by assuming they're not stupid, pretending it's 100% sincere

It was only a matter of time... On Wednesday, 29th of July 2026, after 662 days of refraining, I ranted on stream about how Tank Controls are Good Actually in video games. Honestly a miracle I managed to hold off for nearly 2 whole years and knowing me, doubtful the streak will be this long agin

Some updated Metroid Prime 2 revisit thoughts. It's not a bad game, sometimes it can be great, but the 2 specific gimmicks undermine this game at so many points, I honestly feel like it might be the worst Prime game. It's shocking how much is messes with Prime 1's design for the worse

120

This is a hyper specific public service announcement but if you disagree with a @bghof.com gameplay analysis of ours, saying it was a skill issue and your example is of us goofing off, such as Charkie repeatedly doing divekicks in DmC Vergil's downfall cos they look dumb is unconvincing

I've gotten further into my Metroid Prime 2 replay since @bghof.com Casual Monday show and done more dark world stuff and hey this game might actually suck? I legit haven't played it since I first got the Trilogy Wii version and played through it but I vaguely remember having issues and YES IT DOES

120

Johnny Baghead @johnnybaghead.bsky.social · 17/07/2026

Btw I beat Metroid Prime 4, it is a game with very obvious issues, but honestly? might be the 2nd best game in the series. People might forget but 2 & 3 also have glaring issues that hold them back, arguably no game in the series is as tightly designed as Metroid Prime 1
