Wilders faalt verder, nu al onder de 30 zetels, elke dag dat het kabinet nog kan rekken is winst, want dan wordt alleen maar zichtbaarder dat xenofoob gezwets en grenscontroles voor de bühne niks veranderen aan échte dreiging uit Washington en Moskou.

Voor wie nog twijfels heeft over de intenties van Poetin m.b.t. een duurzame vrede, de vicevoorzitter van de Russische Veiligheidsraad maakt het nogmaals duidelijk. Het enige dat zij vrezen is een verenigd Europa dat pal achter Oekraïne staat.

In Moskou loopt het proces tegen Grigori Melkonjants, voorzitter van Ruslands belangrijkste verkiezingswaakhond Golos. Hij zit vast sinds 2023 op beschuldiging van banden met het in Rusland verboden Europese netwerk van verkiezingswaarnemers ENEMO. Hij kan tot zes jaar gevangenisstraf krijgen.

Het is hoogverraad, Jan, door het belangrijkste Navo-land. Rutte snapt dat niet en onze coalitiepartijen evenmin. Alleen een Brits-Duitse as kan ons redden, de Navo in huidige vorm is morsdood.
