Just saw someone say that if Starmer was still PM, Labour would have lost this by-election and while I don’t doubt the analysis of his personal popularity, I do feel like they’ve misunderstood the conditions necessary for a by-election to be held in his former seat.

It's, for some reason, the hardest times table question. When I did work experience at The Mirror, a radio interviewer surprised the Education Secretary with it and he got it wrong (said 54). Next day we had to phone every celebrity from Russell Grant to Dr Fox and see if they got it right.

End of the cricket season and I've been to (I think) 21 games plus a Test match without a single over lost to rain. Just one snow delay that didn't cost any overs. And 34 overs lost because the sprinklers spontaneously ran all night and made a paddling pool.
