My all-time favorite piece(s) of Chuck Jones' animation, whose talents as an *animator* are really undersung. There's soooo much I could gush over with the technique in both actual movement and character acting, but, most importantly, it's funny!!!

Even though Boomerang was mostly just a rerun channel for old Hanna-Barbera shows in its prime, they still put effort into the music with these remixes, especially this one for Boomeraction that used darker, bass-heavy, and lightly industrial synthesized sounds.

This is one of my favorite sequences from a one-and-done LT short, directed by the unlikely duo Hardaway & Dalton. It really shows that the Showtune/vaudeville-style shorts never really went away and will always be part of what makes LT great. #looneytunes

Consequence of watching the TDTEBU Powerhouse scene again... and again... I wasn't gonna post this 'cuz it's scribbly and rough and wrong, but it happened to align PERFECTLY with the song I was listening to while watching it back by complete coincidence, so I put it together to entertain myself

There's chatter about everyone's favorite Looney Tunes moments; Hard to decide what my funniest/favorite Looney Tunes moment is, but a few years ago I *DID* make a compilation of some--keyword, SOME-- of my favorite quotes, whether for writing or line delivery or what have you. Yes it's mostly Daffy

Sometimes, people say that nothing changes after you transition except you have boobs now. That you're dealing with the same shit as before, except you have boobs. I think they're understating how much everything changes when you feel good about how you look. Because everything does.

I heard a dangerous, shocking, libelous rumor that there are other Looney Tunes characters besides Porky and Daffy. I’m choosing to investigate myself because I refuse to believe such bald-faced lies.

Just saw COYOTE VS. ACME. Such a great tribute to my favorite cartoons, full of terrific gags and heart. The hand-drawn animated bits are excellent. I'm SO glad this was saved from being shelved forever. Go see it!

Always loved this one, but in my latest rewatch I'm stricken at how good these 'Bobs are. I love how joyously vacant he is, a lot of these drawings made me laugh out loud and yet they're so wonderfully subtle. It just *feels* funny

Might be interesting to know, but the cartoon cartoons series was a shorts program, not a pilots program. We were specifically instructed to create self contained one-shot narratives. There were also two tracks, one for 7-minute “longer” stories and one for brief interstitials.

In honor of Friz Freleng’s birthday

A photo of Friz Freleng with Bugs and Daffy drawn overtop. Friz is at his drawing board, smiling, while Bugs looks down on Friz’s drawing and frowns. Daffy looms over Friz’s shoulder, asking “Does it bother you if I look over your shoulder?”

20 years ago today, Sesame Street introduced a brand new female character. It was a concerted push to FINALLY have a female character who would be as important as the male Muppets. Happy birthday, Abby Cadabby! Related: here's a photo of some weird person with a beard meeting Abby in early 2020.

I have always cited this fifty-year-old strip as the last word on AI.

(Linus Van Pelt is standing on someone’s front step as a door to door salesman. A girl who may or may not be Violet sticks her head out cautiously.

GOOD MORNING, MISS... I'M SELLING A NEW ITEM FOR KITTENS, AND I…

FOR WHAT?

(The girl steps out onto the porch to see his wares.)

FOR KITTENS...THIS IS A NEW TOY I HAVE DEVELOPED… A KITTEN CAN ENTERTAIN HIMSELF FOR HOURS WITH THIS TOY...

THE TOY IS SIMPLICITY ITSELF...I HAVE TAKEN SEVERAL PIECES OF SCRAP PAPER AND I HAVE CRUMPLED THEM UP...

(Linus begins enthusiastically miming a kitten playing with scrap paper balls.)

A KITTEN WILL PLAY FOR HOURS WITH A PIECE OF CRUMPLED PAPER! HE'LL BAT IT, AND HE'LL JUMP AT IT...

AND IF YOU HANG IT FROM A STRING, HE'LL HIT IT AND BOX WITH IT AND EVERYTHING!

IT'S REALLY FUN TO WATCH A KITTEN
BOUNCE AROUND...

(Linus returns to the hard sell. The girl is unimpressed.)

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BUY ONE?
THEY'RE ONLY FIVE CENTS APIECE..

WHY SHOULD I BUY ONE? WHY
CAN’T I JUST CRUMPLE A PIECE OF PAPER MYSELF?

(Linus stares into the middle distance for two panels. In the final panel he’s slumping his way back home with his box of paper scraps.)

ALL ALONG I'VE BEEN AFRAID THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS IDEA...
