Getting kids to study more is good and I'm not opposed to it, but China and India (mea culpa, I know less about India's test culture) are not models to try to duplicate. There are very real trade offs here.

Even the Chinese government recognized it to an extent and cracked down on intense tutoring programs. You get to a point where you're just studying to score epsilon better on a test than your peers, and that epsilon doesn't actually matter in any practical sense.

There just needs to be more political pressure on these bootlickers. This happened because decades of right-wing attacks led them to put more and more hacks in positions of power, and so I'm suggesting maybe some left wing attacks to get them to put actual journalists back on the beat

Yeah. Also... We can't know. But if another 2.3M Dems in CA, NY, IL, etc. had voted for Harris? No change in the EC but there's a decent chance that a lot of the compliant behavior from the media, universities, law firms, etc. doesn't happen...and *maybe* Hegseth et al. don't get confirmed.
