Just came back from 3 weeks in Spain, where I did research, wrote, gave readings, was spellbound by a bunch of El Grecos, and met with Spain's greatest poet, 95-year-old Antonio Gamoneda (here with the latest issue of Notre Dame Review, which includes a chunk of his work in translation)

Can I point out that Chicago Review is doing an incredible job publishing both essays and reviews? The new issue includes many good reviews, including Caitlin Farr's in-depth review of my translation of Jäderlund's Ensamtal, and a fascinating essay on "cartoneras" publishing in Latin America.

Aase's Death by Aase Berg, translated by Johannes Göransson — Black Ocean
One might expect a book by Aase Berg with the title Aase’s Death to be dark, and it is. You may also expect it to be parodic, and maybe it is that too. But if it’s parodic, it’s darkly parodic. A defi...

There ought to be a law against Henry coming around… Weird that I have never read anyone point out that Bob Dylan's ”Ballad of a Thin Man” is something of an homage to Berrymans Dream Songs. Is it too obvious of a point? Anyway Id be interested to know if theres any mention of this anywhere?
