I can’t say I’ve ever found a knife sharpener in a self catering place but I’m liking that it seems to be the norm to pack a sharp knife for holiday reasons 😬

I’m not one to complain but why are the kitchen knives in self catering places never sharp? And suddenly reminded of Dad, who always carried a razor sharp penknife in his pocket. He was a practical man but was that also a generational thing? Think it’d be frowned on these days…

For UK it’s dependent on which part of the country you’re from (often a north/south divider). Dinner = full meal taken lunchtime or evening. Tea = full meal taken in the evening, or a lighter early evening meal or snack (your ‘afternoon’ tea) or sometimes ‘high’ tea. Often debated!
