This misfire hits hard. Stephen King’s novel is one of my favorite horror works, and Flanagan is brilliant (Doctor Sleep is an all-time favorite of mine). Yet, despite that pedigree, this series was absolute garbage.

This wasn't Carrie. Carrie White barely did anything in her own show. Instead, the focus shifted entirely to Margaret and Chris Hargensen, while shoehorning in... rival factions of telekinetic wielders? Even the Prom Massacre was over in 2 seconds—the most neutered execution to date.

There was a time when the worst Carrie adaptations were a tie between the 2013 remake & the stage musical (a guilty pleasure of mine). Today, I’m crowning a brand-new bottom-tier champion: Mike Flanagan’s Carrie miniseries. As the finale cut to black, all I could utter was: "What the f*** was that?"

I’m halfway through Mike Flanagan’s Carrie adaptation, and it’s feeling pretty mid so far. It lacks both the raw terror of De Palma’s film and the, psychological bite of King’s original novel, leaning a bit too far into Riverdale territory. Hopefully, the last four episodes bring the heat.

Resident Evil (2026) is a wildly fun, bloody ride! It balances unexpected humor with intense horror, awesome gore, and phenomenal creature design. The third act rushes to a super abrupt ending, but it’s still a highly entertaining zombie flick worth a watch.

Thought it was a fun watch, too. I’m just glad DC is finally out of the dark, broody, teenage-angst phase it was stuck in and is back to having fun. Batman is really the only one where broody is his MO, though I do sometimes wish for slightly more camp from the Caped Crusader.

TIL I can use Apple Pages on a PC. I don’t own a Mac anymore, but I prefer Pages over Word (which won't stop shoving Copilot down my throat). So I’ve been typing spec treatments on my phone this whole time. Fine in a pinch, but such a massive pain. This is absolute game fucking changer!
